Changing taste buds - foods you used to love but now hate!

I've always been a potato fan - roasted, boiled, mashed & fried - and roast potatoes have always been my biggest weakness. I could eat them hot or cold and have been known to have 5 or 6 large ones on my plate at a time, smothered in gravy!
Today whilst eating my Sunday dinner I actually struggled to eat them (3 medium sized) as they just tasted of oil!!!! I think I may have just eaten my last roast potato!!!!! :noway:
What foods have you always loved that since starting your journey you have one day just disliked?

Pasta. I used to eat it almost every day and now I can't stand thinking about eating a big bowl of spaghetti. Ugh.0

White pasta, rice or bread. Whole wheat/grain all the way!0
-
Chips from the chip shop! I used to eat them all the time, but not the thought of them makes me feel ill!0

Doritos and Little Debbie snacks... just the smell of them makes me feel like vomiting! I grab or make popcorn now, or have a little plain dark chocolate!
Ice Cream... Reminds me of cold lard... I've been making slushies for a while now, and tried ice cream last night... Dark Chocolate Rasberry... smelled good but couldn't get past two bites without the "cold lard" thought. Can't wait to try dark chocolate, fresh rasberries, and chocolate protein mix and blend it all together with ice!! Sounds better to me!
Agree with Spaingirl: white pasta has been cast out for whole wheat/grain pasta.
I used to like mashed potatoes alot, just like you. Now, I prefer mashed cauliflower!0 -
McDonald's. I used to have no problems eating a huge meal, now it makes my tummy feel like it's turning inside out to eat a happy meal. Actually, most things with a lot of preservatives in it makes my tummy hurt now.0

Potatoes, used to go through a 20 pound bag every 2 weeks, haven't had any in ????. I had to toss the ones that were hiding in the potatoe locker.
- Cola's - way too sweet.
- Chips - too salty
- White bread - no taste
- processed salad dressings
- processed breakfast cereals
- processed luncheon meats
- processed cheese slices
I really like the taste of natural foods. Additives just don't do it for me anymore. Still trying to clean up my diet even more.0 -
Most cheap milk chocolates. Cheetos. Most full-sugar sodas.0

I stopped drinking soda recently and I dont really miss it. I went from having two or three cans at work, and then probably one or less 2ltr bottles at home a day. I was so stressed trying to find sales and stock up on soda so I could not have to shop for it for a while. It was really out of control. I'm so glad I'm not doing that anymore. I still have soda in my pantry and at work and I'm like....I dont really feel like it.0

I don't like sweets anymore-no sweetener in my coffee or tea no cake or pie just too damn sweet
I don't like potato's anymore- I used to eat them by the pound but I just don't like the taste ( sweet potatos are still good)
white rice- time was I could eat it by the bucket load but I just look at it now and think "blech" ( I eat brown rice now or barley)
soda- I was a soda junkie for years, but now it tastes like syrup( I drink plain iced tea, with a slice of orange or lemon )0 -
White refined sugar I found that I really was addicted to and didn't even know it! I went thru Food Addicts . They helped me detox from having any of it. I found out how it's really posen to the body causing inflamaion in my joints and disrupting passage ways in my brain. It's so very addictive it's in mand it's mostly everything processed in a box or in a package.
I like eating only fresh foods now without sauses or premade prepackaged additives of any kind. I guess over time my taste has changed even more than I thought it has. I have NO desire anymore to have any. I had a chocolate peice of something in a trail mix that I put into my mouth and felt really sick I had to spit it out because of the sugar I could tell right away.0 -
Chinese takeaway - its my favorite takeaway and haven't had one for a while, so a few weeks back me and hubby decided to have a treat on a Saturday night, but it just ended up laying heavy on my stomach and all tasted of grease, we no longer see takeaways as a treat and prefer to cook a nice meal on a Saturday night :happy:0

Corn. I couldn't get enough of it growing up. My grandmother put sugar in her creamed corn, and it was my favorite. I can barely stand to look at the stuff now. The fact that corn isn't even a vegetable is just icing on the cake. I don't even like popcorn that much anymore. I sneak my own snacks into the movie theater.0

I struggle to drink caramel frappucinos from Starbucks now. I used to have them all the time but now they are too sweet ( and I'm a sugar junkie). I haven't had one in I don't know how many months.0

I used to love those in the summertime... until I started here and decided they weren't worth the calorie hit. Haven't had one in seven months...0 -
Wow glad to know I'm not the only one that's had a mad change in taste! Isn't it funny how by eating "cleaner" & healthier you come to hate the food you used to love! Although I hope that never happens to me & my love for chocolate :bigsmile:0

This is how I feel about Twizzlers, even though I have a package sitting in my kitchen as I type this. It's more like plastic than candy. I had a craving for it the other day, but have yet to open the bag. Meh.0 -

Caramel frapps used to be the jam, along with chocolate brownie frapps (discontinued). My Starbucks addiction started with those two, but I can't imagine drinking a caramel frapp now. I'm all about the green tea frapp with nonfat milk and no whip.0
