Fitness Self-Assessment Protocol

When I took a couple different fitness related courses in college, they had you go and have a fitness assessment done at the beginning, middle and end of the semester to gauge your progress. It was a couple years ago, but I remember timed situps, pushups, some flexibility thing to measure how far past your toes you could reach, running a mile, body fat, weight, and certainly some other parameters that are escaping my mind. Then for each of these tests, there was a scale to rank your fitness among your peers.
I am looking for some sort of similar protocol to do this myself to monitor my progress, and comparatively rank myself against other women in my age group. I haven't quite found the right wording to find what I'm looking for with a simple google search- so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for where I can find sort of simple tasks that I can do without requiring much specialty equipment to objectively test my fitness. General gym equipment would be OK- suggestions involving a breathing apparatus and VO2max testing isn't really what I'm looking for.

Ha! This site is pretty much exactly what I was looking for- awesome! Thanks!
Can't I be allowed a blonde moment here and there? (even if I'm a redhead?)0 -
I think I'm going to start doing this weekly or bi-weekly and include the results in my spreadsheet with all my measurements to track the progress. Perfect!0

This is a great idea.0

How long should it take me to walk a mile? How many push ups should I be able to do? I have no context0

I guess that's the point- you plug in how many you can do and how fast it takes you and it tells you where you are in comparison to other people your age.0 -

I used to be in the Navy, so I use the Navy's fitness standards to figure out how close I am to where I used to be.
I see you found a site that you like, but for Navy's standards: http://navy-fitness.com/0 -

I will definitely check this out too! I have a feeling I'm going to fall in the unacceptable category per Navy Standards though! Haha.0
