Fitness Self-Assessment Protocol

When I took a couple different fitness related courses in college, they had you go and have a fitness assessment done at the beginning, middle and end of the semester to gauge your progress. It was a couple years ago, but I remember timed situps, pushups, some flexibility thing to measure how far past your toes you could reach, running a mile, body fat, weight, and certainly some other parameters that are escaping my mind. Then for each of these tests, there was a scale to rank your fitness among your peers.

I am looking for some sort of similar protocol to do this myself to monitor my progress, and comparatively rank myself against other women in my age group. I haven't quite found the right wording to find what I'm looking for with a simple google search- so I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for where I can find sort of simple tasks that I can do without requiring much specialty equipment to objectively test my fitness. General gym equipment would be OK- suggestions involving a breathing apparatus and VO2max testing isn't really what I'm looking for.
