Second time around

I've been on here since October and successfully lost 25lbs by the end of Feb. To make the story short from them until now I've gained back almost 20lbs. I feel discouraged and to be honest really see keeping these old suagry habits as the easy way out. I've been craving ice cream, chocolate, chips and hardly at all made smart choices in the last three months. When I think about it I want to eat more.

I used to treat myself to maybe one small trat a day and now I'm skipping dinner and eating a bag of chocolate chips instead. I don't know what's up.

How did you get back on track after falling so far off and landing up back at the beginning? Yoga? Taking a day to find reasons to love yourslf at whatever size you are and promise to start the next morning?

Ready to give up. I just need a catalyst to get started again and then as soon as I start feeling that positive energy I know I can lose those pounds and reach my goal.

I've lost 20 lbs. since March but am falling back into my bad habits. I am not working and I know that has something to do with it...I eat out of boredom, laziness (who wants to cook for just one person?) and just plain want sugary things and nothing that is good for me!

I wrote a list tonight to help me get back on track. It's nothing major, but little steps to help me along. Some of the things I put on it were: take a 5 minute walk, drink your water, eat a tleast 1 piece of fruit a day, have a healthy breakfast.

Maybe try something like that. And add me as a friend if you'd like! WE CAN DO IT!!
  • this is also my second go :( plz add me maybe we can motivate each other!I like the idea of writing out the list of things to do think im going to try that thanks

 I so understand where you are coming from. In 2010 I lost #37 in 9 months...got a whole new wardrobe and loved the new me...kept it off for 6-7 months and then life got in the way. I stopped getting on the scale, stopped exercising, and stopped logging and watching what I was eating. Even thought everyone kept telling me I looked fine, I knew that my clothes no longer fit and I felt awful. Finally faced it in Jan of this year and said enough is enough, unfortunately I had gained back #30:grumble: . I decided that no matter what everyone else saw and said I had to do what I knew was best for me. I pulled out some of my "cute smaller clothes" and have used them as my goals. I can't afford a new larger wardrobe as my hubby is unemployed (one of the things that caused me to gain) so I've decided this is what I have to do to feel good about me.

Log and watch what I eat.
Exercise at least 5 days a week.
    Get on the scale everyday.
Read other peoples success stories to keep my motivation up.
Drink plenty of water to wash away the bad stuff.

I feel your pain and am behind you on the way to success. You have done it before you can do it again:drinker: .

This is not meant to sound negative however, motivation is one thing which will drive you forward, but you need to examine/reflect what was the catalyst for driving you backwards again? Until you work that out, it'll continue to happen.

    Wishing you well :)

I have lost 30 and feel myself slipping up a little as well. I need to get back in the habit of measuring and weighing everything that goes into my mouth. If it hasn't been measured, counted or weighed I can't have it. I think I've gained 4-6lbs according to my non-digital scale in the past week and a half. Too much for such a short time and knowing I've been lazy with doing what I need to. Just gotta brush off, stand back up and keep going. Maybe something simple like buying new cute measuring cups so I'll want to use em lol!

The only thing to do is to commit to it fully. For me i was the same way, snacking, giving myself a refuel/cheat day, i started to feel as if i were doing it for nothing, so what i decided to do was set a goal or a date that i would commit to reaching my goals to.

For me this was 46 days til my first ever bodybuilding/Physique competition . It requires a lot of dedication and discipline, i can proudly say that i have been under my goals for 14 days, only getting to be stronger each day and less and less of the urge to snack is gone. Basically knowing i have a date in mind, keeps me on track.

For you, im not saying this can't happen to you in the near future, a bodybuilding competition probably wont be for you, but sign up for a 5k or a pick a date one month from today or tomorrow and say, "I will get to this goal by then (whatever it may be: Wear a bikin, lose 5 pounds, dont snack after 6pm)."

Hopefully this helps and good luck to you:drinker:
