Mmmmm, only 1/2 cup of crickets? I prefer an ENTIRE cup!

When the cicadas invade again, can I use those?

Or! I just may use up the "stink bugs" that are populating the US. -- If we ALL make Stink Bug Cookies, perhaps we'll solve the problem! :)

You can substitute for any of your favorite insects.

I used to make cricket bread for a friend of mine every week. it's surprisingly good. as an experiment, I used varying ratios of crickets to flour. it seems about 1:1 is a good ratio; more than that, the bread doesn't rise well, less than that, just isn't enough cricket.

uhm, some people do actually enjoy eating insects. they are full of protein and actually quite good when you get used to them.

you wasted more time responding to this thread than finding a healthy cookie recipe. i understand you're upset, but some of us can use the extra calories, and the insects add a lot of protein.

thank you OP, when i get back on my lifting routine i'll be trying these out.

I prefer to use the crickets as the chocolate chips! It's a really great swap, you take out sugar/fat and add protein!

People may laugh... but aren't crickets considered a delicacy in some countries? Could be pretty good.
