I don't think it does either

"For people who are overweight and obese, 60 to 90 minutes a day of less intense exercise may be advisable. There's no limit on walking or light bicycling, a level of activity we're genetically designed for, O'Keefe said."

But I agree with the article.

+1. There's nothing like endurance sports for that fabulous endorphin kick!!

When I read it, it reminded me of the people that will spend 3 hours on their stationary bike to burn those extra calories. I think a moderation of activity is good, like strength and HIIT. But just doing hour after hour of cardio to burn those cals doesn't sound great to me.

Not advocating for obesity either. Just a good mix of moderation.

And it does apply...maybe not to the majority, but it does apply.

I certainly won't stop my hour of cardio 5-6 days a week. Do what works for you!
  • Its ok to do cardio everyday, some people really overdo it though. There is a lady in my neighborhood who powerwalks for up to 8 hours a day. So unhealthy!

Cardio is absolutley necessary if you want to lose and maintain. Women need more cardio then men, just the way it is.
I will never stop running as that is the key to my success and make me feel mentally and physically unstoppable.
