Wii anybody?

Hello all,

I've never started a forum before.... wonder if I'll start a fight >:)

So, I have a wii. I love my wii. But I haven't used it a whole lot lately because I've gotten a bit bored of the games I have. I have Wii Fit, and Gold's Gym Cardio boxing. Wii Fit is pretty tame I find, hard to work up a sweat, but that Gold's Gym is pretty great.

Does anyone else have any games they would suggest? I love step classes at the gym, and wish they would have a step game, but so far I haven't found it. I've heard good and bad things about the zumba game, that its fun if you already know zumba, but if you're uncoordinated and have no familiarity you're going to break your tv and probably a leg when you trip and fall over.

Thanks!

I got the Zumba game and I am totally uncoordinated lol, but I really like it. That is the beauty of doing it on the Wii, I don't look rediculous in front of a whole class full of people.

I didn't know about the cardio kickboxing game, but that is something I am really interested in! Thanks :)

I have Zumba 2 for the WII - some of the songs are real easy and some are a little more intense. The moves repeat in each song and they also have a "tutorial" as part of the program so you can learn the steps. I like it although some of the songs don't really get me to work up a sweat.

Just Dance 2 is also good and fun to play with others.
  • I have Zumba 2 and I love it. I didn't really like the first one, but I also didn't give it much of a chance. I was already familiar with Zumba, but the dances in the game were different than what I had done before. They are easy to pick up after a few trys and it is really alot of fun :)

Never tried zumba before picking up zumba fitness 2 and I love it, I've had it for months and still use it 3-4 times a week usually :D

We have "Gold's Gym Dance Workout" for the Wii. I am pretty clumsy when I do it, but it makes me sweat. As for the Wii Fit, I like the steps, hula hoop and running.

I have Just Dance 3 - which is great fun!
My Fitness Coach: Cardio Workout - It's basically Cardio Boxing - I love this too
Step to the Beat - Lots of fun
My Fitness Coach: Dance workout - It's fun as well - mostly latin dancing

All the above gives me a great workout, and all that while having oodles of fun

Exerbeat is my favorite . Has dance, karate, pilates, and step! Also exercise More has great step exercises. Im a wii nut and have lots of exercise games. Walk it out is a favorite although may be too easy if you are already in shape. Have both zumbas but havent done much w them. Youve encouraged me to look closer at zumba 2 .
Anyone want to start a challenge? Minutes per week or something?

My favorite is Just Dance 3. My kids love to play it too, so I can multitask and workout while having family time. I also have Zumba 2 and I think it is OK. There are some songs that give a good workout and some are just ridiculous. I'm interested to see what games others use for workouts!

My kids have Just Dance Kids and I love playing that with them. Not only is it a decent workout if you keep moving, but it is a lot of fun for the kids watching their Dad dance since I am in no way a dancer. LOL! It's obviously not the workout that the games you have are, but it is a fun way for the whole family to burn some calories.

I like Just Dance 2 and 3, the Black Eyed Peas Experience, the Michael Jackson Experience for fun, high cardio, dance.

For more traditional workouts, I like My Fitness Coach (the original) and The Biggest Loser. I also like hula hooping and free run on Wii Fit.

I know I'm super lame...but I have a Broadway Dance one - I can't remember the exact name...but it sure works up a sweat - and if you're a drama nerd like me, you can sing along with the songs you know :)

Sounds like I need to get Zumba for the Wii! LOL

I use the Wii EA Sports Active (and the More Active and Active 2) for strength training workouts. Lots of squats, lunges, and other stuff that I hate, but love when I'm done!

I love my Zumba 2. It keeps track of calories burned and minutes played. I try to do it 5 mornings a week.

Zumba for the wii is great. Also I break into a MAJOR sweat doing the Michael Jackson experience. I agree about wii sports but I love the yoga with the wii fit board, it has helped my balance immensely. And the boxing gives me a good Ab workout. Also there is one in wii sports resort where you "defend" yourself from people running at you, that's also a good workout

Great suggestions here. I use Wii Fit sometimes, I like the step and hula hoop and most of the balance games. I found it did increase my core although I didn't always break a sweat as others have said. I also use the Wii Sports tennis and bowling. I have Zumba but haven't tried it yet although it is on the radar for this weekend.

Thank you, sandylion. I was just checking what the exercise database had to say about Wii games and thinking about getting a few new ones since I am getting closer to the weight where I won't break the balance board. Great thread!
