anyone from there, around there?

I'm planning a vacation for next month, and wondered if anyone had any input about what's cool to do with a 13 year old.

We have busch garden, Ripleys Believe it or not, and splash country on the "must do" list.

Now I'm looking for education things to do as well... any ideas?

What about parks? Are there any good trails? I'd like to stay active as well.

And I've looked up like dinner theatre's, I've never been and thought it would be nice to attend one; names of any good ones?

Tripadvisor, really doesnt help planning a trip. Just point me to a great website and I'll take it from there. Or if you a great idea for me, throw it at me.

Colonial Williamsburg is hugely interesting and educational, and I think kids of almost any age that have any interested in history would find it compelling.

I wish I could find a good website, I feel like I've searched everywhere. I found a couple of museums, but I thought there would be alot more there.

Drive Colonial Parkway along the York River. There is a small clean beach at the end with showers, bathrooms, restaurant. Norfolk is not more than minutes away. There you have the marine museum, water taxi across to see shipyards. Virginia Living Museum - kids loved it. I'll think of more, we are there all the time. Jamestown.

We were there about this time last year and while we were there we took our daughter to the Virginia Zoo. They had a good bit of hands on things from what I can remember. There was a Salt Mine there that I wanted to get to to see if it actually relaxes you like the say it does, but we didn't have time. Enjoy your trip!

If you think of more, please let me know. I like talking to someone there or has been there, because some of the small things are the most fun, and you never know about them unless someone tells you.

    Thank you.
