Need super-specific snack advice

I'm a big fan of sweets and high-carb foods. I've tried eating more fruit and vegetables in order to make my snacks healthier. That had some rather, um, unintended consequences. So I need some ideas for snacks that are:

-Low in carbohydrates
-Low in cholesterol and saturated fat
-Preferably high in protein
-Not fruits or vegetables
-Not brand specific

Thoughts?

If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, check out their "just a handful" line of trail mix packets. I LOVE the cranberry, cashew & almond one.

As a side note: maybe your "unintended consequences" are telling you something. If the fruit and veggies gave you gas or the runs, don't stop eating them as a snack. Just reduce the amount for a while and build up slowly. Your intestines will love you for it in the long run. If your issue is more on the candida side of things, you should look into ridding your body of the candida overgrowth and then reintroduce the fruits while eating the veggies throughout the whole process.

    I hope this helps!

I know you don't want fruit, but what I find that tastes like a great dessert is berries mixed in fat free vanilla yogurt . It's amazing how little the calories are for how great it tastes!

Edited to add that I have also found turkey jerky to be a decent snack food too!

Oh yeah. I do that too. Actually, I love to use frozen fruit in yogurt as a summer desert. It is awesome!
