Just wondering how did you like it? Are you still running? If so, how many miles?

I think it's a great program. I started running again last May using C25K, and I ran my first 5K in November. I am still running, and I'm up to 3.9 miles. I would like to go further, but I don't think my knees can take it.

I'm on week 9 and I love it. I can now run 5k! My first race is 6/16. I never ran before starting this program. I didn't find it terribly difficult to keep up with, but I was already in pretty good cardiovascular shape. I do a lot of different workouts, but running makes me feel the strongest.
I'll probably continue running 5k, three times a week after the program is over. Considering going on to a 10k program.

    Good luck!

Thanks! I am definately going to try it. I just got back on the treadmill last week, but I've been doing the incline. I got into jogging a little bit several years ago. I could really tell a difference in my waist and my arms! It felt like it was a full body workout. So I want to get back in it now. Also, running seems to be kind of addictive and people really stick to it. Which is a great thing!

I starting running on the treadmill and always kept the incline at 2%, it's supposed to mimic outdoor running. When I transitioned to outdoor running I didn't have the trouble that a lot of others seem to have.

i did it last spring. i ran my first 5k on the last day of the training program, and it was fantastic. i ran a 4 miler in september and i trained over the winter for a half marathon - made it to 6 miles and realized i wasn't really enjoying running that far, so i decided to stop training.

i still run a couple miles 1-2 days a week. i prefer interval training rather than just jogging, but the C25K really helped me increase my endurance, distance, and confidence in my ability to run. it's been a year and a half, and i feel i could run in a 5k this saturday without too much trouble, even though i haven't run 3 miles straight in a few months.

i agree transitioning to outside was tough. i did that in weeks 8-12 when i had already accomplished the bulk of the distance. weeks 4-5 are the most challenging, but it's pretty smooth sailing when you get past that first 2 mile run (week 5 day 3). you can do it!!

When I started running 3 years ago, I used C25k. I ended up injured and took 2.5 months off last year and to get back in the swing, I used C25k. It's a solid program.

I have run 5 half-marathons, unnumerable 5 and 10ks, a handful of other race distances. I'm currently training for a full.

Loved it completed it and did my first 5k last month. Going to start running again 20-30 minutes 3-4 days a week. I pay more attention to time not distance

I loved it. I finished in March and am still running. Not as much as I would like, but I am still at it about 2 days per week

where do you get this program from

It's available in the podcast section of the iTunes store.
Or you can google search 'Couch to 5k download'. I think it's then available for non-apple devices
    It's free either way :)

That is good to know, I am just at the end of week 3, and have been sticking with it even though it seemed a bit short. Everything says don't over train, but I still need to burn calories! I am now better prepared to see that ramp up in 2 weeks!

I had all good intentions of starting this.

Got myself nice good running shoes, sports bra and started out. As soon as I got to the running part, my cell phone flew out of my pocket and shattered into peices. I picked it up put it back together and then started again. By the end of the first cycle my lungs were burning. I am not sure it is for me

I finished it about 18 months ago, since then I've run a 10K, two 5 milers, a half marathon and a full marathon, PR'd 3 races this year. I'm about to start building my mileage back up, hopefully will be around 30 per week...right now I'm at about 10-15 per week.

You can either download or print the program at coolrunning.com

I love it! Have had a run of bad weather and sprained my ankle in the beginig (did going down the stairs not related to running lol) so I am once again starting week 2. At this rate I may just try to run inside my little apt. (no treadmill) and possibly annoying my poor neighbor downsairs, just to get past week 2!

Please don't stop trying...if you could have seen me trying it for the first week in March!... :) The second week when you run for 90 seconds, I thought I would never make it through that 20 minutes alive. It's now June and I regularly run 3 miles or more at least twice a week. Last week I ran 3.75 miles without stopping. Find a good comfortable pace for yourself - don't start off too fast, or you will get discouraged. I'm telling you, if I can do this, ANYBODY can. And if you have to repeat a week, so be it. :)

I know what you mean! I have a 3rd floor apartment and hit the treadmill at 5:45 in the mornings! Hopefully no one uses the spare bedroom below me!
