Can you loose weight this way

Hi Ya'll,

If I change my diet and eat only healthy meals and drink water coupled with walking 45 minutes aa day can I loose weight? My goal is 15Ibs. Please give me your feed back.

    Will you be in a calorie deficit? If so, yes.

    Eating healthy means portion control...You have to spend more calories than you eat...then you lose weight.

    You can gain weight eating only healthy food if you eat enough of it. You can lose weight eating Twinkies if you eat at enough of a calorie deficit.

    While eating more healthy foods is a wonderful thing to do for your body, you'll still need to make sure you're at a calorie deficit.

    I know that by eliminating certain bad foods or at least limiting them and adding walking is an excellent way to start. I would advise you to track your calories and exercise anyway even though you wont be "dieting" per se. That way you can look back at it in a month and really evaluate the changes you have made. I think the best weight loss plan is one you can live with. I lost 15lbs before starting MFP by choosing to keep meals under 500 cals and snacks under 200.........that and watching my sodium intake.

    Yes indeed, providing the quantity of food is correct as well.

    You really must count calories. I have friends who tried this and couln't figure out why they weren't losing weight. There is not real short cut to recording everything you eat and counting calories. The current Weight watchers proigram simplifies this but it never worked for me.
    I tried the "fat and fiber" program on weight watchers which did work for me but few other people so they dropped it. I counted fiber and fat grams, keeping my grams of fat per meal around 15 and fiber around 35 to 40. I lost 60 pound together with walking about 1 hr a day. It was fun to figure out how to increase fiber in my diet and recipes. My meals were based on vegetables and fruit like blackberries. I would go through a calorie book and list all foods high in fiber and protein that is low in fat. I was always full.

    It is possible, that is how I'm losing. I made simple changes as far as eating healthier and drinking mostly water. For some reason that is working better for me than counting. When I was counting it made it easy to set myself up for a binge. If I ate something that made me go over, my excuse was " I already messed up today I'd might as well eat what I want".
