My new life!!!

In my teens, I was a gymnast and I had a great looking body. It was lean and fit and I good move like a gazelle. When I was 19 yeard old, I had a major car accident and lost the hability to move so easily. Later on, I had a knee problem and walking became hard. I was also taking a medecine that was causing some serious muscle pains. Slowly, but surely, over the years, my muscles became very weak, I gained 30 lbs and felt like crap :grumble:
I had surgery to fix my knee and last March, I stop the medecine that was causing me so much pain. It was time for me to regain control of my body. I started to work out and to do some walking. In the last 6 months, I lost 6 lbs, 3 inches on my waist and 2 inches on my hips. It is not much but it is a great thing for me. The best part is that I feel 1 000 times better!!!
Not being able to move is almost like not being able to breath. I am living again and I want to see the world!!!

Congratulations on your new life. It sounds like it has been a rough road, but that things are looking up for you. 6 pounds is great! It sounds like you have a positive attitude and haven't let these things get you down. Good luck0

I feel ya sister!!
I have the same story!
My tag line says if I lose weight bonus! and I meant it.
Yes I have lost 33 pounds, yes I am now a snug size 6 or loose size 8..........but the REAL change is my ability to move. I still have to be careful and not lift things over 20 pounds..........but getting out of bed without rolling off onto the floor, then crawling to the chair is a far away nightmare I no longer live.
6 pounds is great!! Moving and feeling better is FANTASTIC!!

Thanks for your kind words  All through my difficult period, I knew I couldn't gain too much weight. The more I gained, the more pain I was in. I was going on cruises, but could not take advantage of the time I was spending on the islands I was visiting. Now, it is different!! My next cruise is in 35 days and I will visit 12 islands. I intend to take advantage of everything I can. I want to climb mountains, ride a horse or 2, do some snorkling, use the stairs on the ship and go up 10 decks!!!
I will never go back to what I was before the accident, but at least, I will do my best and live life to the fullest!!!0 -
Your story and determination are inspiring! Keep up the good work!!0

Well, I am reading different topics on MFP right now and I just feel like working out
I want to wear a pair of pants I bought in August 2008 as a challenge. I just tried them on and they will fit very nicely in 5 weeks. They are a size 8 and they are thight still. When I started last March, I was wearing a very thight size 10 pair of Jeans. Now, the Jeans fit nicely and are starting to be lose a little
It is now time for me to go in my training room. Speak to you all later!!0
