Calorie Swapping?

Does any one know if there's any danger in calorie swapping. Like, for instance if you eat 1200 calories a day. One day you went over by 200, so the next day you eat 1000. I only done this once when I worked third shift I eat at 11pm and counted it for the next day. I was just wondering if this is bad for you.

I do this all of the time, I feel it keeps my metabolism guessing so that fat is not stored.
I can be as low a 800 calories one day and as high as 2000 the next, so long as it averages out at roughly 1,200 per day over a week or two I do not worry.

I do this. I try to look at my weekly intake rather than daily.0

It's working. The scale don't lie. Your almost at goal.0 -
I've actually heard it helps with weight lose by staggering your eating habits. Your body doesn't get too comfortable with anything. Depending on who you ask, some people look at daily caloric goals, others look at their weekly caloric goals.0

Well, I don't think your body automatically resets itself at the same time MFP does at the end of each "day".
A "day" is a term we use for ourselves to track our time, not something our body overly recognizes (aside from sleep patterns).
I think a weekly approach is a good idea, or if you feel more comfortable, let 2-3 days flow together if needed.0 -
I thought for sure we'd get someone saying if you don't eat 1200 in a day, your gona die or something crazy. lol0

I do this sometimes...this weekend being one of those times. I think as long as its not extreme (like 1000 cals over one day and 1000 cals under another day) you're fine.0

There's no harm in doing what the OP did, however what you said about the met rate guessing is inaccurate. It's about overall balance. Like the 1 post above...you're body reset day to day. It lives off of trends based on decisions made daily. Hope this helps. Looking a weekly calorie goal is useful too, as long as you learn how to budget calories like you would your money haha.
Take care.
