OK...ok....I know everyone saying...."please, just shut up....i wish". But really, why don't I ever feel hungry. The only time I know i'm hungry is when my hands start to shake? It's always been this way, for as long as I can remember. If I could find that gene/dna sequence, magic bullet...whatever it is, it would be the holy grail.

Example 1: I can wake up in the morning, have a cup of coffee, and late at night, realize I haven't eaten...all day.
Example 2: I put it to the test again a few weeks ago...ate dinner on a Friday night around 7pm...Saturday, went to the Gym, cut the grass, usual activities and didn't eat again until a small snack Saturday night.

Is there anyone else that doesn't ever feel hungry? Just trying to see how uncommon this is..
ps...my wife hates me for it

You may want to think about speaking to your doctor about this... may be thyroid, or some other kinda thing . They're much better qualified to tell you about the reasons why you have no appetite, or have experienced a loss of appetite over "x" number of months.

(Kinda wishing I had your problem, either that or a tapeworm... hahahaha... just kidding)

I also have the problem, I find that if I keep busy... mentally or physically I never ever get hungry. I normally have to force my self to eat something or people will yell at me... well kind of

I used to be like that, I guess your body gets used to not eating. I wouldn't eat until I had the shakes and was ready to pass out, that was my reminder that I needed food. I don't think I could go without eating on a regular basis now.

If you have been this way for a long time, I would see a doctor. It could be a sign of some kind of medical problem.

I have never been like that. Sometimes I think I could eat all day, everyday lol

Usually a lack of appetite is due to hormonal imbalance - which often comes with eating under maintenance (and the bigger the deficit, the larger the impact is often the case). However, as suggested by some others, you should also check it out with your doctor.

What does your diet consist of? Since I've been doing this low carb and high protein, I am less hungry myself.

The term "low carb/high protein" is new to me in the past few years...however, looking at what i've always eaten, its always been low carb and high protein. Not big on Pasta/Rice/Potatoes, but I do love my Fries. Mostly veggies, chicken breast, fish, lean steak..never could stand the taste of fat from chicken skin or steaks, etc... In the past, a lot of Fruits. Except for the steak, its pretty much a typical Caribbean diet, except I just don't eat a lot of rice.

I'm thinking its the higher protein that gives me a more smoother, even energy level, rather than the Spikey highs from carbs.

As for seeing a Dr.....other than not being hungry, I have no symptoms, 120/80, resting pulse of 58, no other health issues other than DOA (Damned Old Age)...so i'll have to pass on that.

Huh, that's definitley not me - though I think my husband is a bit like you. He will go for ages without eating unless I put something in front of him.
I think a lot of us who have tried to lose weight so many times are completely out of touch with what our bodies need, so I tend to go by the numbers rather than how my body feels.
  • I do not ever feel hungry either! I fully believe and understand you. I can and typically do go days without eating anything more then maybe 1 fast break candy bar. The only type of "hunger" i suppose I get, is that I will get weak feeling, tired, dizzy, know i have to make myself eat something with allot of protein asap, then SUGER, my body craves chocolate and suger stuff frequently. I don't know why I am this way either. I didn't used to be this way, but as a very young man, I regularly had nothing at all to eat at home for days, I suppose it is somehow possible the human body just cuts off the pains and the hunger feelings after years of ignoring those things anyway? Maybe? I am going to have to start using a timer to remind me to eat.. maybe work back my hunger, its bad, i'm probably dying from this in reality, i lost allot of muscle now, and i'm just.. too thin, people probably think i use drugs i'm getting so thin, its not good. anyway, let me know if you still have the same problem, or if something helped you to regain yours, i need to feel hunger!
  • i just looked this up today. all my life i have never gotten Hungary/ cravings, ever.... i only noticed when my stomach actually started to hurt. But its only recently that i have noticed a dramatic drop in my weight as i have an on call job and don't get regular meals. So being 115 on average... im down to like 107 or so.... my parents think im an anorexic (im not i swear, i love food way too much) and im not belimic (i HATE HATE HATE throwing up and even when i am dead sick, i will avoid it as best as i can) so why is it i dont get hungary. when i do get a craving its for meat..... like a whole pack of balogne in one sitting type of craving, and when i make meals i ussually with have a couple helpings, but now i think my stomake has shrunk and i cant seem to eat nearly as much.... so any tips for me? i forget to eat alot. like today for example, i had a glass of milk in the morning, then at 9pm i realized i handt eaten anything so i had some fruit leathers beef jerky and some cambelles chunky sirloin soup. i take a lot of vitamins and so i dont think i have to worrk in that sence but i am worried about why im not hungry. and i am too embarrassed to go to the doctor because i know he will shrug me off.... so just tell me your stories, what did your doctor tests reveal so i can tell my doc what to test for
