The best (and healthiest) I've found is to simply mash up ripe avocados with salsa...super flavorful without all the calories of sour cream. I always get "this is so good, what's in this?" comments! (: Karen

i like my guacamole chunky and a little spicy.

diced tomatoes, red onion or shallot, garlic, jalapeno, fresh lime juice, cilantro, salt, pepper, and of course, avocado :)

i think I make awesome guac.

2 avacodos, smashed with fork but left chunky
2 cloves garlic (smash with salt into a paste so there are no bits)
    handful of cilantro chopped
    1/2 red onion diced small
juice of 1/2-1 lime (depending on size)
    salt and pepper to taste
Mix, leave pit in bowl to keep from turning brown

Some people like to add diced tomato to theirs but I like it w/o

EASIEST guacamole ever, and the bowl never lasts more than 10 minutes on the table..

slightly mashed avocados in a bowl
    minced garlic
sea salt & fresh ground pepper
    dash of onion powder
    fresh squeezed lime
1 tsp mayo (i use greek yogurt) this is to make the guacamole a bit more creamy

cilantro, onion, & tomato are optional according to taste, but you might as well make a salsa fresca too then (cilantro, onion, tomato, fresh jalapeno, salt, pepper, lime) & leave the guac alone.

Just gonna say this: there is no sour cream in guacamole. That would be guacamole DIP, which is not the same.

    my favorite recipe is:

    2 guacamoles mashed
    juice of one lime
    package of guacamole mix seasoning
1 tablespoon of mayo (this can be omitted)

    mix and serve!

My family owns 13 Mexican restaurants and here's our recipe

    2 ripe avocados mashed
Juice of one (very juicy) lime
    1/4 cup freshly minced cilantro
    Tsp. salt

Stir and enjoy. Avocados are so delicious alone that you don't need anything like guac mix, sourcream or mayo. Let the fruit speak for itself

I might just win for "simplest recipe," but trust me, it's delicous.

Mash a ripe avocado with lime juice and salt.

Ideally the avocado will be Haas (black, bumpy skin), the lime juice will be from a fresh Key lime, and the salt will be kosher, but Florida avocados, bottled lime juice and regular salt will still do the trick.
