Zevia

One of the hardest things for me to quit when I made the choice to eat healthier and lose weight was Diet Coke. But I recently discovered Zevia, which is supposed to be a "healthy" alternative to diet sodas. Does anyone have any information about it Zevia and the sweetener Stevia? Is there anything harmful about this type of drink?

Thank you.

Is supposed to be ok to have when u are pregnant and been in Europe for a really long time ... Just don't overdo it ... Coming from a very paranoid mom that was really careful with everything she ate while pregnant a few months ago

Personally prefer Splenda ... Just two sugar molecules joined together with chlorine molecule that your body cant absorb, plus can usually find cheap alternates in grocery store with this .... Don't like some of the other sweetners since they can be bad for your nervous system .... Hope this helps

I'm not familiar with the Zevia the soda, but stevia the sweetener is made from the leaves of a plant. If they only use real stevia to sweeten the soda, then it's about as healthy as possible, and by far the most natural 0-calorie sweetener. I use stevia in my coffee everyday. I refuse to use ANY other "sweeteners" (including splenda, which is NOT as "healthy" as people claim), and instead stick to real sugar, honey, pure maple syrup, etc. I also don't use refined stevia (like Truvia, etc.) because I no longer trust it's safety when it's not in its natural form. That's not to say that natural = good and unnatural = bad, because obviously that is not always the case. But there have been many cases of foods being much more healthy/beneficial in their original form, and very unhealthy/harmful after being refined.
  • I'm willing to try Zevia. I heard a local dietian say stevia is a healthy alternative than other sugar substitutes for diabetics.

Bumpity Bump instead of starting a new thread.

I'm LOVING Zevia fruity flavors. I mostly like that they don't have much (if any) artificial coloring. The grape flavor (delicious) is clear as is strawberry. I'm not thrilled about the cola flavors but the fruit ones are great!! I'm getting mine on Amazon.com using the subscription service to save $$$.

    :drinker:

(Zevia uses Stevia instead of the bad artificial sweeteners.)
