(I AM AWARE I SPELLED MAINTAIN WRONG) I am hopefully a few weeks from my goal weight and would like some advise on not gaining any fat? I know I have to eat more to gain muscle ( gym 4-5 days a week) I still plan on using MFP on occasion but I won't worry about missing a few days. I was kind of thinking I can eat pretty healthy days I work and not have to worry so much on my days off if I go out... Please any advise? My roommate swears if I go to the gym a lot I can just eat anything I want and it will turn to muscle, i know it works for him but I can't see that happening for me.

If all you wanna do is weightlift to gain muscle you should be fine with eating more because you need the cals for it.. just don't go overboard and you be aight0

Have you figured out your BMR and TDEE?0

I don't know my TDEE and I have a idea of what my bmr is, I just know you cant gain muscle without eating enough calories, if I set mfp setting to maintain is that enough to build muscle or should I eat a little extra? Or do I just figure it out on my own and see what works ?0

Gratz on getting near the maintenance phase. I am no where near but here is a blog from a lady who lost 135 pounds and has maintained the loss for five years. She has some pretty decent tips in there.

Here's another link from Tom Venuto on the biggest weight relapse mistakes.

That is what I am told all the time by my room mate, I just don't wanna go back to being over weight, I think I am just gonna try to stay pretty healthy about eating but just eat more0 -

^^^ This. If you want to gain muscle, it's going to be pretty easy for you (I don't mean "easy" as in "you don't have to work hard", but "easy" as in "you are at an age where your body will not fight you on this in addition to the hard work").
Look up a couple of good lifter's diets that are compatible with your goal (do you want huge muscles or just good toning and a 6-pack?), follow them closely, and change from scale-watching to body-fat-percentage-watching.0 -
