I need some advice!!

I have been sticking with this lifestyle change since before New Years, and have lost 55 pounds. I'm doing really good at keeping a positive attitude and keep on pushing! I'm looking at another 5-10 pounds to go, and I know they say those are the hardest to lose. Lately, I have noticed that I am not as hungry and have had a hard time eating my snacks throughout the day. At first, I thought this was great! That means less calories taken in that day, but today I realized that it really means my metabolism is slowing back down. All of a sudden, I seem to have forgotten all those things I did way back when to get it to speed up! The scale has not really budged in 2 weeks even though I have changed up my exercise routine. I'm not concerned as much if it is just a plateau, 'cause I have been through my fair share of those, but more worried about how do I get my metabolism to speed up again? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Are you still eating every 3-4hrs? Make sure you eat SOMETHING! Even if its just a granola bar or a banana.... if you don't have time to eat... drink a protein shake or a smoothie. Hang in there... i'm coming off of a 6-month plateau myself!0

You could try doing a re-feed. The idea is to eat high calorie for a period of time (depends on how long you've been dieting) to boost your metablism. It has to do with leptin's effect on your body. There is all sorts of information if you to a google search for "leptin re-feed".
Below is just a small tid bit. This website suggestion doing a 3-day re-feed every 8 weeks. I've seen other articles that suggest 1 day per week.
"RE-FEED I cannot stress enough, the importance of the three day re-feed. People who have been training hard and dieting for several months likely have low levels of Leptin. Leptin is an important substance which helps regulate fat metabolism. It also helps manage important hormones responsible for weight control. The three day re-feed is simply a period of time in which you will eat a high calorie, high carbohydrate, low fat diet. When I say high carbohydrate, I do not mean candy, crackers and cookies. I mean high quality carbohydrates. This is no time to lose discipline. It’s a time to re-focus on why your program is so important to you. You’re going to gain a lot of water weight during this time. Don’t worry. It will come off in the first few days."

Thanks Crystal! That really helped! It's amazing how I'm learning new things all the time. Not that I thought I had all the answers, but I had never heard about leptin before. The changing up the calorie count thing I have known, just by doing it. I usually let myself eat almost whatever I want to one day a week (without going crazy), that way I don't feel like I can never eat anything. And, seems like it's working so that my body doesn't get used to the same calorie count everyday.
I am really going to crack down over the next few weeks and try that zigzag diet.
Thanks again!0
