I need a new playlist, stat. I'm a big Florence & The Machine, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Hollywood Undead fan. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)

I was a runner in the 80's and my favorite song in my head was Whitesnake's "here I go again"

Love that in my playlist. I also enjoy Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas. There's a great website for choosing songs by beats per minute to match up to how fast you run.

Just listened to it! Great call!! If it's the same one I just listened to, it's Gym Class Heroes ft. Ryan Tedder. Ty :)

Songs on my iPod running playlist that I think have great beats for running, and that always result in me running a little harder/faster:

White Stripes - Seven nation army
Bon Jovi - It's my life
    Iron Maiden - Wicker man
Black Eyed Peas - Let's get it started
    Eminem - Lose yourself
Linkin Park - Breaking the habit
    Ram Jam - Black betty
Neil Young - Rockin' in the free world
    Van Halen - Dreams

I got it on mine now too. It came on as the last song(randomly) when doing the C2K5 week 9 and thought it was appropriate for the end of a run.

Bossa Nova Baby - Viva Elvis
Miami 2 Ibiza - Swedish House Mafia
    T.O.R.N.A.D.O. - The Go!Team
    Bonkers - Dizzee Rascal
    Commander - David Guetta
    Bad Girls - MIA
    Bad Kids - Lady Gaga
    Blow - Ke$ha
    Super Bass - Nicki Minaj
Remember The Name - Fort Minor

The Workout Mix 2011 has some pretty good songs as well. :)

I like to put gag songs in my running playlists to make myself laugh in the middle of long runs. "Do you think I'm sexy" always gets put randomly in the middle, "Something in the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins and "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley (yes, I Rick Roll myself). It brightens an otherwise hum-drum sort of run.

Go to songs for me though are "No Light, No Light" by Florence and the Machine, "Freaks and Geeks" by Childish Gambino and "Judas" by Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga . . . ANYTHING Lady Gaga lol. With a little bit of LMFAO mixed in.
Though I've also found the NOW Dance (old ones and new ones) and Hip Hop mixes to be pretty good for the long runs.
I love all these suggestions though, I've also been looking for some new material.
    :drinker:

I put a few gag songs on mine too! I like 1980 by Dirt Nasty. It's graphic but it makes me laugh! And I too have "Never Gonna Give you Up" on my iPod. No shame here!!!

Warm up: Hold on Loosely - 38 special
    Dirty Harry - Gorillaz
I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas
    Not Afraid - Eminem
    Stronger - Britney Spears
Just the Way you Are - Bruno Mars
    Hero - Skillet
    The War Inside - Switchfoot
    Winning -- Santana

Love some of the suggestions here...time to add to the playlist!

    My current playlist:
    "One Foot" Fun. (warm up)
    "Impossible" Anberlin
    "Open Road Song" Eve 6
    "Stronger" Kelly Clarkson
"U + UR Hand" Pink (teehee!)
"The Anthem" Pitbull feat. Lil John
"You Make Me Feel..." Cobra Starship feat. Sabi
    "#1 Nite" Cobra Starship
"Sweetness" Jimmy Eat World (cool down)

I'm a pretty slow runner so I don't know what the bpm's are for these songs. All I know is they get me going! I am starting to get bored with them, though, so I'm gonna go read this topic more carefully and get some ideas. :drinker:

EDIT: I should add, although it's probably clear, that I like stupid cheesy music to run to. Older playlists included Bon Jovi, Rick Astley, Shakira, Billy Idol, etc.

    Usher - OMG
Black Eyed Peas - any song they ever made, lol
Beyonce - Single Ladies, Upgrade You; Sweet Dream; Deja Vu; Until the End of Time...too many to list!
Destiny's Child - Bootylicious, Survivor; Sexy Daddy
    Ke$ha - Blow
    Lagy Gaga - Alejandro
    Timbaland/Pitbull - Pass at Me

These all make me run faster, harder...partly because I want to shake my booty to them :)
  • I love Florence & the Machine. They are always on my exercise playlist!
