Sugar cravings

What is the quickest way to get rid of sugar cravings? Is there some vitamins or herbs or something like that to help the process along? I feel like I'm dying here!

    Try drinking water.
  • Drinking more water does help. I've heard chromium supplements may help, but check with a professional dietician or nutritionist. An apple usually does the trick for me. I'll let myself have something sweetened with Stevia, raw local honey or Agave nectar from time to time, but mostly stick to fruits and veggies as my sugar sources. Hope this helps!

If you try to balance meals and snacks between protein and a carb, fat and a carb, or protein fat and carb together you will find a lot of your sugar cravings just arent there anymore. That plus if you do have one eat fruit instead. There is a lot in season that are delish, but since the body processes the sugar in a much slower and different way, it wont have the same spice in your blood sugar will cause you to crave more.
  • I too am a sugar lover who is now eliminating the sugar from my diet (not my FIRST time either)...the thing that always helps me is drinking the sugar/free flavor packets in my water...Crystal Light has alot of good flavors, but I especially like Wyler's Lemonade because it is sweet and sour and gets rid of my sweet craving (I also love Vitamin Water Zero which has a NATURAL sweetner, not artificial and has added vitamins...the Dr.'s love this product)!

If you would rather have a food substitue, then eat watermelon (which is naturally sweet but no fat and low calorie) or another fruit of your choice, just eat in moderation!

    Good luck!!!!!! :)

I drink water and when that does not work, I chew gum. I never used to chew gum but I have found a few flavors that really give me the illusion that I am having something sweet. I only chew it for as long as I get the yummy taste then get rid of it. (I never was a big fan of gum chewing in public, it just looks too funny....but that's only me LOL.)

    Man I love sweets!!!!

    Yep, water helps.

So does avoiding them and only having them on occasion.

I'd eat sweets everyday if I could.

In fact, I did,....which is why I am here now lol
