being honest at last!

So a couple of months ago I finally lost my first 10 pounds on MFP! I was so proud only to realize later that half of it was most likely due to water weight when I quickly gained it all back. I ended up right where I started at 180! I was so embarrassed I decided I wouldn't update my progress untill I lost the weight again, and no one would know about my little yo-yo antics. In the last few weeks I have become really serious about logging every little snack and workout, but the only aspect I was dishonest about was my weight. After watching the updates of all my MFP compadres I have realized that weight loss takes time, and everybody screws up every now and then, but they keep at it! In the slow months and perhaps years it may take for me to reach my goal weight, it will be much shorter than the years and decades of waiting and wishing for to happen while doing nothing. Success is sometimes slow, I may have lost my instant -10lb. badge of honor on my profile, but now I can finally celebrate my small victories each week with my super MFP support network, because we are here to cheer each other on through our best days and our worst days!
Thank you friends!

And celebrate you should. For me it's not weight loss that brings me here anyway, it's feeling better. So take off the weight as you can and be proud that you are do so well in the other areas!!

Yeah, I've been there... I've lost and gained the same 10 pounds over the last few months and wasn't updating my status either because I liked seeing the larger number.. being honest with ourselves is so important. Kudos to you for laying it all out. You can do this!! Keep moving forward!0

Great attitude! I have noticed that I loose and gain in cycles. Logging my weight on a regular basis (regardless of an up or down) has helped me see these cycles and I'm not quite as shocked when I see them now. I can see that I gain about 7-9 pounds every month during my TOM and it takes about four days after that to go back to my pre-TOM weight... Now that I know, I can prepare for it and it doesn't discourage me or derail me like it use to. Also, if I have a big loss in one week I won't loose at all for the next two weeks. We are all here to encourage and support you regardless of the movement of your scale Good luck with your journey.0
