Losing to fast?

I started dieting monday Oct. 19 after a first trimester miscarriage ( I am a surrogate mother and all the hormones from the IVF made me gain 10 pounds in about 3 months) I want to lose weight since I will probably cycle again in about 4 months.
It's been one week and 1/2 and I lost 4 pounds. I know that the first week is the one where we lose the most weight but isn't alot since I have to lose about 10 pounds? I do not want to lose too fast and put myself in starving. I have 1200 cal a day and I usually eat a bit over that ( between 1200 and 1400 cal a day.) I started swiming again but only gone one this week and took it easy.

Hi,
According to my personal trainer - in the first week you lose a hell of a lot of water weight which can equal a good few lb's. This is why people generally have a bed second week and give up, but its only because the body is trying to refuel with fluids.

i've lost 25 pounds in 2 months, so some people just lost faster than others, i guess...0
