Hey everyone - so I'm on day 30 of 30DS and just the past week my knees have been super sore (I did workout 1 &3 same day and have been paying for it). Any suggestions to help with sore knees? My knees have always 'clicked' when I walk up stairs or do any movements that requre bending - squats, lunges, etc. but I always make sure I have proper form. Last few workouts I've been doing the 'beginner' version to decrease the stress on my knees. Someone at work suggested icing them after workouts, ibuprofen before. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Proper shoes, Ice, traumeel and really good hip flexor stretches.

Seriously, I find that if my hips are nice and loose my knees don't hurt at all when I run.

I use KT Tape (Kinesiology Tape) for my knees when they start to get sore from running. It really helps me.

I have bad knees as well (5 surgeries) but I went did the 30DS and Ripped in 30--and paid for it. I went through the series again, but this time, instead of punishing myself, when it was time to do the things that really weren't good for me, I substitued some of the other ones--the punching or the jumping rope or I jumped on the elliptical (which I realize not everyone has). Ibuprofen before and icing afterward does help! Listen to your body because if you push too hard you'll be out of commission and then have to start all over but with knees even more susceptible to injury.

I use anadin joint pain ibuprofen. Just take one an hour or so before. A knee support has really helped too, can't recommend those enough!

I'm having the same problem! I'm hoping it's just that my knees aren't used to being active and it's the same as muscle pain. I'd really hate to know that I"m damaging my knees just by trying to get active :(

I'm an aquatic exercise instructor at my local YMCA. I have bad knees and I started attending aquatic exercise about 8 years ago because of my knees (swollen, baby step up stairs, couldn't bend them 90 degrees) and fell in love with it. I have since become a certified instructor and highly recommend aquatic exercise for knee problems. Don't think of it as only exercise for seniors! this form of exercise has come a long way in the past 20 years or so. It's a great workout giving you 12-14 times the resistance of working out on land (no weights) and it is much easier on the joints. Of course, as with any group exercise you have to find a good instructor. You will be surprised to find out you can sweat working out in a pool! Water aerobics is the best!

I had the same problem when i did 30DS. At that time i didn't know what to do and after I finished the 30 days my knees still hurt. First u have to give them time to rest and recoup. I used ice packs also. When i started running the pain returned. Now I alternate days. Only do things that put stress on my knees every 1-2 days. The pain has stopped.
