Trouble with left shoulder?

Hi everyone!

So I just started working out again and I have notice that my left shoulder has been giving me trouble (poping and pain) when I do any sort of exercise that puts it to work like push ups and lateral raises... I warm up before I exercise and I'm only using 5lb weights when I do lateral raises... Is there any thing I could do to maybe strengthen my shoulder muscle...
(I am currently doing the X factor St workout)
Thanks for all your help:smile:

Only because you said your shoulder is popping AND there is pain...I have to ask did you see an orthopedic? Shoulders, Back, and Knees are nothing to mess around with....

At first I was going to tell you to do some resistance band warm up and work your way up to developing your stablizing muscles....BUT...because you mentioned popping AND pain...I think you should have a specialist look at it....

you may just need to build your strength up...but pay that co-pay and get it checked out to be certain

When I read things like this by my american friends and see things like people having weight loss comps to raise money to treat a child with cancer ( I saw this on 'American Chopper') it makes me very grateful for the free at the point of use NHS!

I have the same problem. I broke my clavical, and my back in four places, but strength training and resistance bands have definitely been helping out.

You should still see a Dr. though.

    Hello!

I injured my left shoulder six years ago. I was at a swim practice and didn't tense my arms when I dove in, so the pressure of the water and the impact of the drive yanked my left arm to the right. I almost dislocated my shoulder. There's no popping, but there was pain if I lifted my arm too high.

Today, my left shoulder is considerably weaker than my right; and I'm in pain during and after workouts. I suggest seeing a doctor (I never did, but I wish I had) to pinpoint the problem. I currently use my workouts as strength therapy for my shoulder, and I've seen fantastic results. I can lift my arm with no problem, and there's little to no pain now that I've worked out for a few months.

The key is to not push yourself too hard...but push yourself to get progress. There's a "butter zone" for strength therapy. You just need to find it.

Best of luck to you! :flowerforyou: If you don't want to take my advice, at least see a doctor.

Thanks everyone... I am going to stick it out the rest of the week and make a dr apt if it doesn't feel better.
    Thanks again :)
