NSV - Goal Reached (PICS!)

I was overweight as a kid, as a teen and through all of my adult life, until now, at 33, where I’m in the best shape of my life.
I always said that once I’d reach my BF% goal of 18.5%, I’d post pictures. Since getting an accurate reading is more complicated than I ever imagined (gym device 17.1%, Bod Pod 11%-talk about off!, and online calculators have me at 18.4%), I’m declaring “goal met”!
In the past months on MFP, I’ve loved to see people’s progress pictures, as they were motivating for me. So hopefully, by doing this, I do my part in helping someone else too, as well as show my MFP friends what their encouragements helped me accomplish (they are a great crew!). I can’t say I’m comfortable showing the “before”, but then again, this is probably the case for everyone. I’ll have to admit that even the “after” is beyond my comfort zone, but hey, we only live once!
I still have goals, but they are fitness related (mind you, if I can get rid of the new found excess skin I have from the weight loss, I would not mind getting some ab definition! Time will tell.). I do weight training 3 hours a week spread on 4days and a minimum of 30min cardio 6 times a week. You would have told me in January that I would actually enjoy this routine; I would have said you were insane.
So MFP population, this is my journey in pictures as well as pics taken today.
I wish you the best of luck in yours!!!

Very kind of you! Thank you.
I actually do weights 3 hours a WEEK, not per day....or else I would have killer abs! lol. With cardio and weights, I workout on average 1 to 1.5 hours per day.0 -
Very impressive! I'm 5'9, too, so very cool to see 152.

I was asked these questions, so I thought I'd share here as additional info:
The weight loss from Jan 1st 2011 to Sept 2011 was done through using "The Biggest Loser" site for food diary and some cardio only (3x a week). Then I stopped until January 2012 (lack of motivation?!)
I started with a Trainer for weight training in January 2012 (30min twice a week...I had never done weight training, so I needed the help) and started cardio again. I was not seeing the changes I wanted for the effort I put in, so during the first days of April 2012, I started logging all my food on MFP, changing my protein/fat/carb ratios, etc. I also upped my weight training to my current routine. It is at that moment where I started noticing the major changes in my body, confirming that nutrition and exercise must be done in combination, and that a good support group is crucial.0
