I got script tattooed on my ribs. But mine's spelled right.
When you're getting script, the artist has YOU type it out, tells you to check it multiple times, and tells you that they cannot say if you spelled something wrong. That is your responsibility.
    Silly silly people.

Not all artists work that way. My artist, Jo Lynch at Needles, Ink in Cheyenne, Wyoming, does a lot of custom scripts that fonts don't exist for. she hand-draws each letter and each flourish. Sometimes people want a specific, computerized font, but a lot of people want something totally custom. Plus, when you have it custom done, the letters flow together well, when computerized fonts have pre-set kerning that can only be subtly adjusted.

^^^ this and before you get tattooed (here anyway) you sign a waiver of liability stating that the tattoo artist is NOT responsible for spelling errors.

Pants for life for your friend!!

That would bother me to the point where I would chew my own leg off.

LOL!!!!! Me too. I'm so picky...when the artist did my tattoo in memory of my grandmother ( vines, cross, stardust and stars in my pics) I designed it and brought it in. I had little stars * after each of her initials...He forgot one.....luckily I saw it before we left..lol..and I had him go back and add one in where he forgot. It would have driven me bonkers!!!!!!

They still have you check the stencil first, though, right? That's the most important part of this discussion.

just have the whole second line removed.........then redone correctly. I know that seems like a lot of work but hey, you wont have to live with it messed up.

Most people may not notice it until it's pointed out. Still, it can't be as bad as this:

    ZZOMG! That's horrific.
Oh no, why does she have so many wrinkles and shadows?? I saw an even worse baby pic tattoo. I hate to say it but the poor kid looked like a pit bull!

This is why if I were to ever get a tattoo it'd be an image, not words.

Awww man, I feel sorry for him.

Guess you could put the blame on both people, but at the end of the day it can't really be solved now :/

Maybe he could let his leg hair grow at it might resemble a tiny 'h' ?

    Here's to hopin' :D

Ahh that's horrible! I once saw this guy with a quote tattooed on his chest and the grammar was incorrect (wrong version of "your"). I would die if that ever happened to me.

That's why I'm tattoo free! I wish I could post this one photo. This idiot of a teenage girl tattooed "B**** Stop Starring" w/ two eyeballs across her chest. Unfortunately for her, I couldn't stop staring at the typo.

Had to look that up ! LOL

I have the first three verses of Amazing Grace down my leg.
In the last one some people sing, "And Grace will lead me home," mine has, "And Grace will lead US home," but I like it better that way, and I've heard it sung both ways.

That would drive me insane!! When I got my tattoo (of my very uncommon last name) I quadruple checked the spelling!!! Even for a month after I got it I would recheck just to make sure

I know a girl that got a tattoo of a quote and the "across" was spelled "accross" someone pointed out on her facebook pic that it was spelled wrong and she said it was supposed to be that way, then deleted the comments about it....

Awwh, I thought this thread would of "tattoo fails," not just the one.

    But yeah, that's pretty awful.

If he has a GOOD artist which from the looks of it is doubtful...a good one could make the S into the H and get the i in as well. But your friend should have checked the spelling before the ink was done. I always check the art out before the needle is started.
    Just saying...

Dude...permanent TYPO! I could not live with this! I must agree with previous poster's suggestion to amputate...
