I thought eating lots of fiber was good for you. According to the food diary numbers, I have gone over my fiber count for the day already. Does anyone know why it is set that way?

recommended fiber intake is 25-30g a day. i think mfp defaults to a way lower number. be careful to stay adequately hydrated and eat enough fat in order to help the fiber move things along, else you can get very uncomfortable and even sick.
most mfp users tweak their settings in order to get numbers that work better for them in terms of protein, fat, carbs, fiber, sugar, sodium, etc. you can play around with it in your settings and if you up your goal, the red number will disappear

MPF's estimates for your goals are just that, estimates. Aiming for 20-30g of fiber a day is recommended. If anything, more fiber is always better than being under it for the day. You'll want to be full from the fiber, so that you won't overeat, and be satisfied. I generally go over what MPF determines for my fiber amount as well, and I do not worry about it, as I know better on what my macros should be for my given goals.0
