Thanks. Not a bad idea.0

Can't help thinking that any diet that stops you eating one nutritious, healthy piece of fruit a day can't be good for you0

straight up. eat the damned apple.0 -
I could't agree more.0

Seriously, don't even worry about it. Sure, you'd be over your carb limit but it's GOOD carbs - they're healthy! Enjoy it.0

I would eat the apple and not count the carbs, just do a quick add of calories. Yum apples!0

I find it hard to believe that your entire daily target for carbs is 20. That seems wrong.0
-
Why is your daily goal carb number set at 20? That doesn't really sound right, or healthy for that matter.
Eat the apple, I can guarantee you it won't kill you. Plus it's better to give in to a healthy craving than a bad one.0 -
Eat the apple0

Agree!! Love an apple at break time.... crunchy, sweet and good fiber!! Wish people would worry more about empty carbs or stupid soda pop!!! (diet or otherwise!)0

It sounds like the beginning phase of a low carb diet like Atkins. I could never survive on something like that!0 -
Limiting your carbs to that extreme isn't great for your body. Unless your goal is to be in Ketosis, then don't fret over the carbs, as the body runs optimally on them. My advice: eat the apple, and worry less on the amount of carbs it has.0

 Thanks to all. I will eat my apple - just did not know if I should count the carbs or not. trying to be good and get to my goal. This is a big change for me but I love this plan. Learning a lot about nutrition. thanks again for your input. I am knew at this and thanks for your patience.0

In my mind, if its healthy like Fruit or Veg i dont bother counting anything but the calories. Theyre good for you0
-
Sorry, but I have a hard time with any 'diet' that makes it nearly impossible to eat fresh fruits. Fruits are a GREAT source of fiber.0

20 carbs a day, sounds like somebody is doing Atkins diet are we?0
-
Are you trying to do Atkins or something? Because 20 carbs is crazy! You would not have any energy to move! Eat the apple!0
-
Sounds like you're trying to follow Atkin's initiation? If so, the apple is off limits, but I would avoid counting calories if you're restricting carbs that severely. Combining a strict virtually-no-carb diet and a low-calorie diet is way over the top. If you want to go the MFP route, ditch the Atkins.0

Healthy diet: End the guesswork with these nutrition guidelines
By Mayo Clinic staff
Introduction
Carbohydrates

Saturated fat
Trans fat
Cholesterol
Fiber
Sodium
Sugar
Carbohydrates
Description: Carbohydrates are a type of nutrient found in many foods and beverages. Carbohydrates are your body's main energy source. Most carbohydrates are naturally occurring in plant-based foods. Food manufacturers also add carbohydrates to processed foods as starches or added sugar. Carbohydrates in the form of sugars, starches and fiber are found in legumes, grains, vegetables, fruits, milk, baked goods and many other foods.
Recommendation: Get 45 to 65 percent of your daily calories from carbohydrates. Carbohydrates have 4 calories a gram. Based on a 2,000-calorie-a-day diet, this amounts to 900 to 1,300 calories a day, or about 225 to 325 grams. Emphasize natural, nutrient-dense carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables, beans and legumes, and whole grains. Limit less healthy sugar-sweetened beverages, desserts and refined grain products.0 -

I agree. Don't diet to lose quickly, eat better for life to be healthier for life!0 -
Thank you. That makes sense.0

Unless you are on a super low carb diet your settings should be :-
Fat 30%
Protein 30%
Carbs 40%
Fibre 30g
Sodium 2500mg
This can be changed in your goal tabs.
Glad you ate the apple :happy:0 -

No - but doing Mediweightloss. Its set at 20 however, there is a lot of info I am not clear about yet. I will get with them 2morrow and check. Several folks have replied not to count the carbs on the fruit and Veggies and think they are correct. However, I am learning a lot from all of you and do appreciate the input. You have a nice day.0

Thank you. This is all very helpful information for me. Learning something new with each reply I am getting and so far yours is one of my favorite. Have a good day.0
