Hi Fitness Pals

I just want to introduce myself. My name is Charlotte and I've been logging here I guess about a month now after a suggestion from a exercise psyologist that visited the company where I work as part of our Wellness Program. I've lost over 100 lbs over the course of 10 years and would like to lose at least 24 lbs more (which is why I'm logging now). I said I'd never log what I eat but sometimes you have to try new things on this journey when you reach a different level, right?
So, hopefully during this course I'll say something that will help you and you'll share some things that will me and keep me going. I look forward to meetings some really great pals here. Have a GREAT rest of the day!

Hi Charlotte! I am impressed with you weight loss story. My name is Shari. I have never been one who has had a lot of weight to lose, but as I near my 40th birthday, I have to try something new. I have 20 pounds to lose and although it doesn't seem much next to your 100 or so pounds that you have lost, it has consistently been hard for me. I seem to sabotage myself. So I started yesterday to faithfully log my food intake and record my exercise and with diligence and commitment, I am hoping to lose my weight. Incidentally I am in the best cardiovascular shape of my life as I have been running for seven years, but I don't look like a runner! ARgh! aw well. Here's to our journey. Nice to meet you.0

Hello I'm Leslie,
I'm trying to get on a healthy way of life. I'm 40, married & we have a 7 year old daughter. I'd like to be healthy for her & my husband. If I could get myself to eat healthy & exercise then they'd naturally fall in line behind me, since I do all the shopping, cooking & activities in our family.
So I not only need motivation, but yummy new healthy way of eating. So I turn to you on this new journey in our lives.0 -
Hi Charlotte...I also am new to MFP (about two weeks now) -- and like you, have never logged my calorie, carb, protein and fat intake in the 50 plus years I have been a "yo-yo" dieter. It was always difficult for me since I was, and still am, always on the run.
Briefly about me, I have used almost every type of diet out there over the course of those 50 plus years, including starvation when I was back in college in the 60's. I have been up the weight scale, back down, and back up, and back down, etc....until I finally ended up about 60 pounds overweight some 20 years ago.
I am "loving" this accountability program!!!!!! Both my daughter and I are doing this together, along with a couple of other personal friends, and both of us are starting enjoy some great success with this weight accountability program.
I will say it has taken some adjustment in my old eating habits --- and for me and my body type, having to consume way more carbs on a daily basis than I ever have in my lifetime (with less fats and proteins) has been a challenge --- the results ARE showing, especially when coupled with the exercise program I created for myself.
It truly does come down to "calories in - calories out - plus a daily exercise routine" --- but the balance of carbs, fats and proteins is a true "must" to make it all work together, in my opinion.
I am excited that I found this "free" program to help me with my daily accountability......and it really is soooo easy in this great computer age of ours! I you have a cell phone where you can download the app.... do that as well in combo with website, because as you are on your daily run....it is really easy to plug in what you ate, and what exercise you do (without forgetting by the time you get home in the evening --- or sometimes the next day). My daughter uses the app on her phone all the time, and has found instant recording is a "snap" for her..... I have a shortcut on my desktop, so getting to the website is reall-lly easy throughtout the day.
So in closing.....welcome.... I really feel like this is going to be a fabulous journey for you toward your goals!!!! Here's to all of everyone's future successes together!0
