June Bicycling Challenge

I have been posting a walking challenge every month that I took over from someone else several months ago. However, I recently purchased a bike and would like to start a bicycling challenge, too.
I got my bike about a month ago and it was the first time that I had been on a bike in about 20 years. I find it very difficult, but also incredibly fun. I feel about 10 years old again.
Any other beginners (or not) that would like to join my ride? Please feel free to post your miles, minutes, rpm's, whatever.

My bike was out of commision for a couple of weeks due to bad brakes. It is up and running again.
I've gotten 4 miles so far for June.0 -
Hi Ya, i would love to join in your June bike challange, i use my bike most days so it would be nice just to jot down every day how much i do actually use it and how much mileage i do. Happy June cycling :bigsmile:0

Rode 19.1 miles today and burned a massive 1711 calories. Definitely good exercise. I'd like to get out again soon, but not sure when I will be able to.0

Holy Smokes! You ALL rock! I did mention that I'm just starting out, didn't I? My little 4 mile circuit seems a tad small to me now. I hope to be able to build up to where you are. I'm so glad that you all posted here!0

So far for me only one ride in June.... 4th June = 26 miles

I'm another beginner so I'll balance out all of the big dogs with my little numbers. I rode this past week on MWF for 5 miles each time. Monday was okay, Wednesday was better, Friday was easy. I think tomorrow I am going to tackle my first 8 or 10 mile ride!0

I did 8 miles today -- my longest ride to date! I did only start on Monday though, haha. It was really good. I think I'm going to stick with this ride for another two times before I increase my mileage to 10. This puts me at 23 miles for June.0

I just recently bought a bike and I am going to begin riding tomorrow. Instead of measuring by Miles I am going to aim for a time to get an idea of how far I can go within that time frame (My work schedule is crazy and this will help me adjust accordingly).
Any suggestions for someone who hasnt ridden in probably 12 years?0 -

I just started today :-) bought my first bike!! I've only owned one before when I was about 7years old so it was a very slow and wobbly start but I soon got into the swing of it - you know the saying!!
I did a little 3/4 mile loop round my town this afternoon so I'm about level with you so far! xxx0 -
No biking for me today. The whole Sunday thing. But I should be back at it tomorrow.0

Good grief! No biking for me again today. I was unable to shake the kids because my husband is out of town and I had a bad feeling about leaving them home alone.:sad: Dear Husband will be back tomorrow and he better plan on giving me some time.

I'll join in!
Back in January, I vowed to say "yes" whenever my husband asked me to bike. I only live 2.5 miles from work so in February, I began biking to work a couple of days per week. By May, I was biking to work 5 days/week.
My cycling goal for the summer is to bike at a faster pace. Back in January, I was biking 9 mph and yesterday, my average speed was 14 mph.

147 miles in May
196 miles Jan - April
404 miles YTD

I'd love to join in- I just joined this site yesterday and LOVE it! I just bought a tandem bike so my daughter (8) and I can ride together! It will be fun to track our distance. THANKS for doing this!0
