Calorie Question

My husband and I just went on a 25 min. bike ride. When we entered our exercise, his said that he burned 143 calories and mine said 119 for the same exact thing. What's the deal? Is it different because of gender and age? Thanks!

ya my mom and I were just talking about that too, she is heavier then me and when we exercise together her calorie burn is more then mine, I was really confused at the beginning lol.
  • you remember when it asks you how many days you work out, how long, and at what level???

    that's what it's based off:)

it's cause you weigh less than him most likely. less weight = less force required to move it. less force = less calories burned.
  • the more active you are, and enter into the questions asked...the higher your calorie count will be

I hope I make sense, and correct...just trying to help out:)

Thanks for all the quick responses. It makes sense. Even though we entered the same amount on everything, he definitely weighs more than I do. I thought it was just another testament of how men can lose weight faster than women. :)

Yes, your height, weight, gender all factor into how many calories you burn.

    No, that's not correct.

It's simple - the more you weigh the more effort it takes to move your body.
