Does anyone have any good natural remedies for bloating? Its that time of the month and I've had it the last two days, I've been drinking loads of water and it doesn't seem to be helping!!

Have you considered whether it's a food intolerance? Even if you just get this at the time of the month, it might be that you're more sensitive then so it's worse. Wheat and dairy are common culprits, but there are all kinds of rarer allergies/intolerances. Keeping a food diary may help.

General advice is to eat lots of fibre and also probiotic yoghurts, these help with digestion, also ginger and peppermint can help, if you like herbal teas then you can drink them as teas. Plus lots of water, but you're already doing that. If the bloating is caused by or worsened by sodium, foods high in potassium can help, e.g. fruits and veg, especially bananas

If it is menstrual water retention you might like to try dandelion tea - not the most palatable stuff in the world, but a great diuretic which will help you move some of the water bloat if that's what it is.......

Sometimes I am so glad I am too old for all that nonsense any more - my TOTM was a PITA!

I have a problem with it as well. Milk is my culprit. I had no problem with milk until I hit my mid 30s, but now it really messes with me. I switched to Lactaid milk, which tastes the same as regular milk. I also always carry the Lactaid enzyme supplements. When I can't prevent having dairy, I'll just chew a couple before I eat or drink it.

I woke up this morning and my stomach was 3 inches smaller than it was yesterday so thanks everyone for your advice, I dont think it was cause by a wheat allergy as i haven't eaten anything with wheat in a while but maybe some gluten sneeked in without me noticing. I have a wedding to go to on Friday so I'm going to avoid milk products for the rest of the week
