Okay ladies! Need some help here! I am a "busty" woman (as my mother will say) and am need of some new bras. I have always just bought what I could afford in the past....not always being a great or supportive fit.

Where would any of you recommend I go to get bras? Willing to pay for good bras now!!! Any and all knowledge/advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Go to Macy's and have them help you get that perfect fit, also let them know if any dislikes first hand like lace, rubber, satin etc..

A perfect fit is so comfy.

Go to a lingerie store and get a professional bra fitting. Most women are wearing the wrong size! I know I was! Once you know what size to look for its much easier to find whet you need in your price range.

Seriously, if there is an intimacy near by, I'd go. I went a couple of years ago and found that I was a size smaller and that I fit into european styles much easier than America's VS. I'm wide so there are some makers that definite think of those with wider ribcages, "back fat" etc. They are kinda price-y but one or 2 bras will do a world of wonder! If there is no intimacy, I'd suggest Nordstrom, their lingerie area and specialists are pretty great! :)

I used to work at Victoria's Secret and yes, you do need to get re-measured every so often. If you're losing weight/gaining muscle stuff changes. If VS doesn't have something comfortable for you, try Macy's, Soma Intimates, or Lane Bryant if you have a larger frame.

I go to Lane Bryant. It's always buy one, get one half off. They tend to be great quality and they help to measure and fit you. They're worth it. I also like that it doesn't feel like I have to hunt so much to find something that fits right. They have all kinds.

I have had good luck with departments stores and Lane Bryant. My bra size is odd - smaller band with bigger cups, and it can be really hard to find a bra to fit the bill. VS definitely doesn't have anything that works for me, but places like Dillards has surprisingly come through for me! Don't know how many of these are international though, if you're not in the US.

Another Lane Bryant bra fan here. Most stores have employees trained to measure and fit you as well. Sign up for their coupons and you will get ones like $25 off a $75 purchase.

Enell are the only bra I wear to work out in, run in, lift weights in. I was a 40DDD and they worked awesome and now I'm down to a 36D and they still work well (obviously it's a new size LOL).

They are ugly really but they work!

For every day wearing Lane Bryant is the place I loved!!

I just got sized at Macy's (32DD) and bought some fabulous ones - Wacoal brand ($42-$60).

There is absolutely a difference in quality bras and having the correct size.

Good luck and Happy bra shopping!!

FYI: Where ever you choose to go check your modesty at the door because they get up close and personal

I just noticed this reply. This site might be helpful also: http://www.biggerbras.com/ I haven't ordered from them, but it looks like you can search by size. Also, a 44I in US standard sizes is the same as a 44G from European manufacturers. My favorite brands are Fantasie and Freya, and my sports bra is by Elomi. Good luck!

  • I go to Fashion Bug... they have regular and plus sized clothing, plus they have bras up to DDD...They have super deals ALL the time. sometimes they are buy one get one free, and this week, they were buy two get two....They will even measure you to make sure you get the right sizes too. They have underwire and other types of support. I LOVE them. I too am "busty" and they provide the perfect amount of support and are super comfortable.

From what I understand from what people have said and measurement calculators and stuff I have seen wouldn't a 46H be the sister size to a 44I. Down number up cup, up number down cup.

Yes, people say that, but if I'm spending $60+ on a bra, it's going to be my exact size. I wore the wrong size for years, because that's all I could find at department stores. But now that I've found my favorite bras in my actual size, I could never go back to wearing bras that don't fit right.

Onehanesplace, com sells Bali and Playtex bras. They also have outlet stores where you can go and get measured and try on the bra before you buy, and they offer their products at a discounted price. I used to work at one of the outlets, and there are MANY different styles and features out there depending on what type of support and comfort options you need.

I love my Enell. I have always been "busty" and never liked to run because it hurt. I put my size 3 on and while it isn't going to win any fashion contest (so what), it is the most comfortable secure bra I've ever owned. I paid $55 for mine, but sometimes they run specials on them. Highly recommended.

Nordstrom, seriously. They can help you find cute, incredibly odd sized bras, and they know how each brand fits. It's the only place my mom (who is in the 40's band size and very busty) and I (a 32DD) can both find comfortable bras. I fell deeply in love with their bra department when I found out that they actually carry bras with a range cup spacings (the part in the center front between the cups) and finally found a bra put the underwires in the right place with the band small enough to actually hold everything in place.
