I have difficulty sleeping after eating certain foods shortly before I got to bed, particularly some of my favourite foods like nuts and cheese, just seem to be more prone to getting indigestion and/or disturbed sleep, so I try to avoid eating for the most part a couple of hours before I go to bed for pretty much this reason alone.

Thanks everyone who responded! I think what I'm gonna do is log in my usual food but keep a little baggie of popcorn or peanuts around just in case I get a random hunger kick. Thanks for all your help guys!

I think that myth is true.
I also am really struggling witth this.
If I eat at night I have a hard time stopping. I just have a little something then go to bed.
    wine seems to help.

I am pretty sure that it is a false accusation, that one gains weight from eating at night because you burn more calories sleeping than you do sitting around. Anyways I feel that you should eat when your schedule lets me. I would try to eat 5-6 small meals a day every 3-5 hrs so you can build your metabolism up.

Not certain if eating at night is bad/good but I drink tea nad water after dinner and my snack, normally I am so full of liquid, eating is out of the question. However, the down side, you are going to get up at least 3 times a night to pee. It was super annoying at first, but now I am used to it.

I do most of my eating at night...once in awhile I have lunch...but its late afternoon...so by the time late evening comes around ...I am eating my supper..then snacks...I don't worry about it as long as I stay at my calorie goal...I usually walk the next morning...it makes me feel less guilty about being a piggy the night before lol...though I know I can't gain wait just because I ate before I went to bed
The last few nights I have munched on whole bags of quaker crispy minis

Well the main reason I don't like to eat at night is because I have a hard time falling asleep. Its not that I don't have self control because I do, I'm very strict when it comes to food and portion sizes. I could try saving some calories but I have certain foods that I have everyday, so I figured I'd still have them, just not log it in so I could have that snack just in case if I need it? What do you guys think?

The thing I have everyday is the "Boost High Protein shakes" that has 240 calories. I use it as breakfast and as a supplement to make sure I don't miss any essential vitamins that I might not eat that day.

Please clarify the part in bold...do you mean still eat them, but not log it, so you can eat something else if you want a snack??

If so, the answer is definitely no.

That's what I meant. But you're saying no as to I should still log it in or vice versa?

What would that accomplish, though? It's not like if you don't log it, it doesn't count towards your caloric goal for the day. Log everything you eat. Eat less earlier in the day if you need room later in the day for more food so you're still hitting your target.
