30 Day Shred - Yay or Nay?

Hello All!

I am on the look out for my next big workout and was wondering about this whole 30 Day Shred everyone's talking about. I am about to finish up Slim in 6, which was pretty awesome, and want to try something new.

So, 30 Day Shred? yay or nay?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks a bunch!

I am looking forward to the responses to this! I just bought the dvd last night, but I noticed a bunch of other dvd's of hers...like her new kickboxing one, or the Shed and Shred one...I debated on which one to get, but I've heard most about the 30 day shred so I bought it. Now the problem is, taking it out of the wrapper... Good luck!

  • It's totally doable for every fitness level. Love that about her workouts! It's always split up in levels, so you can do it with someone who's at a completely different level and both can benefit. Are you doing it? I'm looking for people to start the 30 days with me so I actually stay on the bandwagon the full 30 days!!

Yes I have been doing it after seeing pictures of results on MFP. At first glance the excercises look easy but Jillian kicks my butt.

I love her 30DS video. I feel you can make it as intense and and difficult as you want depending on how hard you push yourself. Once your through with one level the next starts and is difficult in a whole new way. I have done multiple rounds because of how it changes with each level. Plus its only 27 min. Even if I don't want to work out I can talk myself into 30 min.

I totally agree with this. She kicks mine, too!

I didn't see a huge difference in my before and afters. But I had a huge difference in my endurance. So I am still doing it three days a week to see if I'll notice more results.

It's great exercise! And it goes by fast! I sweat, huff and puff and struggle so much more with the 30DS than any other exercise I do. I like that it's different exercises so your body doesn't get too used to any one thing.

level 2 is kicking my *kitten* lately. Once I can do all the moves as advanced as possible I will move on to level 3.

I will say I can't stay on the bandwagon for 30 full days. It's very hard to do the video everyday. I try to break it up with long dog walks or running at the gym.

Also I would suggest stretching a little longer than she does in the video. I think the stretching is skimped on a little just to keep the video within the 30 min timeline.

How often were you doing the video before?

I'm on day 5--I do it every other day because of back/neck issues. I'm not sure if I've changed much, but I feel toned all over--more than I did when I started;).

The 1st day was rough but each time I'm doing better and I'm proud of myself for giving it a try!

I really like the program however I couldn't do it everyday, I had to take days off in between because it killed my knees!

Big Yay! Very good, very quick and very versatile I would think for different fitness/strength levels
