PCOS and losing weight

I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2003, since then, I have been on metformin. 2 children later, I am focused, and ready to lose weight. I've been back on metformin since I was done breastfeeding my daughter. I've been on the max dosage (2000mg a day) since February - I take 2 pills in the am, and 2 at night. I have my good days, and bad days when it comes to the metformin, stomach issues mostly. A friend of mine and I are doing P90x, we have been doing this for 2 weeks now, and I'm counting my calories, and so far I have lost 5lbs. I feel pretty good about that, but I'm worried if it's going to keep coming off like this. Last year, I worked out and ate healthy for 3 months, but went on vacation and got off the wagon. I only lost 12 lbs in 3 months, and I working out 2 times a day, and became very discouraged...working out that hard with very little results. I'm hoping I don't experience the same this go around. I am very motivated, and feel really great working out with a friend...we will just see how it goes.

Anyone else with PCOS, how has your weight loss journey been going, and are you on metformin?

Metformin XR 1500 mg at night, very little stomach troubles with the XR version and taking it at night. I hit a wall with the weight loss and it's frustrating with having PCOS, cause I can gain 10 pounds in a week, but it takes two months to LOSE that 10 pounds. Oh well, I just keep keeping on...
