Hi,

Can anyone tell me how many calories you burn doing Power Plates? Also, it doesn't feature in the exercise list therefore how do I go about getting it put on there?

Thanks

You can add your own exercises to your diary, you aren't limited to the ones in the database.

I'm not convinved you would burn much standing on a vibrating plate, but I'm not expert on such things. I suggest you google it and see what you can find (you might want to look for something independent of the company who sells the machines!)
  • Thanks ladies... I will look it up and add it in myself.

I did 3 months of Power Plates (with a bit of netball in between) before my wedding and lost a lot of weight actually. I go to a studio that specialises in Power Plates and therefore feel it's more beneficial to have a trainer showing you what to do as apposed to trying to do it yourself. I just don't have the motivation to do it properly myself. I highly recommend it but only if you have someone making sure you do it properly. It’s fantastic for toning!! I’m a believer :-)

    Hi,
I've been doing Power Plates for several months now and I totally agree with your point about the good trainer. With the trainer you don't just stand on a vibrating plate, you do a variety of strength training exercises that, I find, are intensified by the vibrations. I'm sure that my strength has improved with this (although I am doing other forms of exercise as well). As my trainer puts me through a total programme, I usually log Power Plates as calisthenics or strength training.
