My Story....5 years in the making

I'm 26, almost 27, and I weight 236. About 5 years ago, I started smoking...although it only lasted about 1 yr...when I quit it snuck up on me! I was 140 lbs 5 years ago. I had known I was picking up weight when a guy at work told me I looked good thick. And then people started asking me if I was pregnant....like almost every week. I would cry I was so hurt, but tried and never could stick with anything. I went to nursing school and didn't realize I was as fat as I was until we graduated, went out for celebration and my picture got taken. WOW. And now 2 years after graduating nursing school the weight just keeps coming. I am determined to do something about it. I want to be able to wear "normal" clothes (not scrubs) and people NOT ask me if I am pregnant. Me and my fiance are getting married at some point this year and want to start a family...soon...I can not be going into pregnancy this overweight.
That's my story.... 5'9'' 236 lbs

I am so proud of you and your decision to start this lifestyle change journey. I started out at 304 lbs. and am down 95 lbs. so far. It is an important journey to take. I was never able to have children due to my weight. I had a heart attack and a CABG x5, diabetes and all those complications. Please, head my advice and start your journey today. I am determined to take off my remaining weight so that I can get healthier. Please feel free to add me as a friend. I will be there for you along your journey. Kimberlee0

I have tried many of the "fad" diets some helped but not were long lasting. I came across this app for my droid and I can't begin to tell what a difference it has made. I'm not really dieting but I am watching my calorie intake. To date I have lost over 20 lbs and want to lose at least 30 more. All of this by simply tracking everything I eat or drink. Start with a small goal and stick with it. You'll see how satisfied you really can be when you watch what you eat and stop once you've hit your calorie limit. I can't believe how satisfied I feel after eating and not that stuffed "why did I eat so much" feeling I used to have. Hang in there, you can do it!0

I have my first mini goal, but I need to explain something before I tell. I work at dialysis, from 5am to about 5pm...We get a breakfast break and then a lunch break. We are allowed to leave the clinic for both so sometimes and quite often I'll go out for both. And since I'm near the hospital, of course we have everything to eat. My first mini goal is to eat one meal from home (or something I brought). Tomorrow I have yogurt and grits for breakfast and then lunch I have turkey tenderloins and baby carrots. Breakfast I can eat there....but between being in a bldg for 12 hours and my love of eating out I go out regardless of what I brought or didn't bring.0

I want to thank everyone so much for everything! Already, I have tremendous support! It feels so good and free to be able to tell my story, from start to finish and all my thoughts without lying or feeling bad about it....knowing I'm not being judged. THANK YOU!0
