Hi everyone!

So, after a year or so of trying to eat healthy/lose weight, I still haven't been able to find the right number of calories/macros that works for me. I want to eat nutritiously and stop focusing on just the number of calories (as I have been obsessed with for the past few months)..and I want to go see a nutritionist/dietician for a consultation on what I should be eating to feed my body right. However, trying to google them in my area hasn't really worked too well--I don't get many results that make sense (is there a different term for them?). I was wondering if anyone had gone to one on here and could offer me advice on how they found them and what happened during a meeting. What kind of things did you discuss and what services did they offer you? Was it a one time thing or multiple visits? I know it depends individually, but is it costly/covered by most insurances?

Thanks for any help!

"metabolic testing" is a good search.

You sit in a room and breath into this machine. It measures how many calories you burn in a 24 hour period. It'll take the guess work out of your maintenance calories. The one I went to was at a physical therapy place. I live in Seattle and I think there was only 1 place that does this test. Regardless it was worth it. Cost was like $80 or $100 I can't remember.
