Herbalife Shakes - what are your thoughts

I'm interested to hear what your thoughts are on the Herbalife shakes. Are they a good alternative to breakfast for those that are time crunched in the morning? Or am I better off with a bowl of instant oatmeal?

I am not a fan of things like Herbalife so I would say go for the oatmeal.
  • I am losing weight on the herbalife shakes and with the personalised protein powder added they keep you full for hours sometimes I even forget to eat a snack. They are balanced and are not full of sugars and salts like some other brands you buy from chemists. They have their own scientists and Dr's who work on the right balance for the products. I would say they are a good alternative for a busy person who doesn't have time to sit down and have breakfast.

I do the Body By Vi shakes, I love them. They are loaded with vitamins and give me tons of energy. I was never a big breakfast eater and if I did it was something fast. So the shakes are perfect for me. I do one for lunch and breakfast, sensible dinner, and of course your snacks. I have over 100 recipes so I never get tired of them, of course I have my favorites. =)

Work with the person selling you the products to find the fix for you.. It may take a few adjustments but hopefully you'll find what makes this program work for you.

I personally love the herbalife shakes... I add extra protein, fruit, oatmeal or pb2 to mine to mix it up. I also try eating snacks with a good amount of protein inbetween my shakes.

The thing you really need to think about when considering shakes vs. oatmeal is your nutrient needs. Oatmeal hardly has any protein. It is good for you, however if you're going to just have oatmeal in the morning and fruit, thats a lot of carbs and you will need to make up for protein later in the day.

Shakes usually have a lot of protein. I drink Herbalife occasionally because I did notice they have more carbs and less protein than other store brands (like from GNC or Vitamin World.. or even bodybuilding.com).

That said- cookies and cream is my favorite Herbalife shake that I enjoy OCCASIONALLY.. however I'm not going to say they are anything magnificent. There are definitely other protein mixes out there that are cheaper and healthier for you... but I would certainly pick a shake over oatmeal any morning. :)
