Where is it? I was diagnosed with it in my ankle, back in February but it was actually a stress fracture. Not sure which is better :ohwell:

I don't think there is anything to worry about if it is on the 'I think I have...' level. If it's your Achilles' tendon, don't wear high heels for a while and try not to stress that feet too much. If it's jumper's knee, rest that leg.

Any swelling? Can you move/twist/bend your wrist without problem?

Good news it's not tendinitis, bad news 'most probably' you're spending much time on computer and either your keyboard or mouse is making you develop carpal tunnel syndrome. Try to strengthen your wrists by simple exercises and try not to spend too much time on computer without taking a break.

You should probably take NSAIDS for a while. They will help with the inflammation. If your doctor diagnosed you he/she should have given you a plan of care.

I had it in my shoulder, completely ignored it and ended up with a frozen shoulder. Excruciating pain! So I recommend not to ignore it and hope it goes away, go see a physiotherapist particularly if it has been going on for a while.

It won't be a problem till late stages and it won't go that far if you take good care of your wrists :) There should be diagrams online to show the best posture to prevent it. In year of 2012, it's a common problem since many people has to spend a lot of time on computer, so no need to freak out.

Give it rest for a day or two and if the problem gets worse or persists, try to see a physiotherapist like Summer said. If it happened occasionally (and mildly) or just started, there isn't much to worry about as long as you take care of yourself. I have it come and gofor more than 10 years as I sometimes have tons of pages to type in a short deadline but it's well supported with exercise and rest.

It sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome to me, but I'm no doctor so my advice would be to get it checked out.

If you use a computer all day long, ask your workplace to provide with an good ergonomic keyboard and a trackball mouse. You can also wear a splint at night which keeps your wrist in a neutral position.

These things helped me loads. I did eventually have surgery on mine (back in 2006), which made it a lot better but I still get issues with tingling in my forearm and quite often wake up with no sensation in half my hand.
