Hi, I hope you are all well :)

I was just wondering if anybody had any tips on focusing my mind on my calorie intake, or just on weightloss and exercising in general. I have ADHD inattentive type, and towards the beginning of anything i attempt, i do really well. However, as time goes by, i lose all focus. For example, in counting my calories. I count them at the beginning of the day, but towards the end, i just CANNOT bring myself to. I don't even know if any of this makes any sense...all i know is it's like some sort of extremely strong force makes me unable to finish what i started...

Thank you in advance :)

Do you plan out what you are going to eat for the day? If you do, then you can log it all in the morning when you're focused on it. Otherwise you can always come back the next morning and finish logging for the previous day.

I have never been diagnosed as having ADHD, but this sounds too familiar for me. I am the QUEEN of starting a project with vigor and excitement, but then never finishing it.. The same with this. I do great for a while then find excuses for myself to stop trying.

I have the opposite problem. I'm a bit OCD about it. Maybe try jotting down what you eat and then you can log it at the end of the day? or you can plan your days out in advance, but that usually doens't work for me as i crave one thing one day and another thing another. i've found that, if there's something i'm putting off, i'll make it so i HAVE to do it before anything else. a lot of times i'll walk into the kitchen to get food but force myself to do some dishes first.

dont think i'm being very helpful :P

what i tend to do with food is to put it all in my food diary the night before, so it just feels like it is all planned out.

i do not have ADHD but due to PTSD, I can never focus properly. This helps me.

Try not allowing yourself to eat it until you log it! That growling in your stomach will help to remind you!
Like most people, a certain amount of discipline is required & although this is not easy for you we can all use our excuses. I have MS & find it difficult to exercise. It's difficult but not impossible!! Keep at it & find ways around the problem areas.
You CAN do this if you choose!

Hmm, logging everything in the morning seems helpful, i shall give it a try! Although the likelihood of me sticking to what I log in is pretty slim..

    thank you girls

Planning is a great suggestion. Posting reminders to yourself where you will see them is also good.

I have ADHD too, same variety. I suck at follow-through. I need a personal assistant with a taser to follow me around. I also have two young kids. Evenings are chaotic, to say the least.

    I can imagine :(
Although a personal assistant with a taser doesn't seen like such a bad idea atm, haha
