Carrots with hummus, apple with almond butter, oven-roasted sugar snap peas with balsamic vinegar, canteloupe and watermelon, bing cherries, rolled up deli turkey (fresh deli sliced only, all that other crap in a package is processed) with dijon mustard, jalepeno stuffed olives (REALLY high sodium, though), air-popped popcorn with olive oil spray, salt, and a little parm. cheese.... so many good things!

Lots of ideas in Everyday Food magazine or on their website for free!

Someone yesterday told me they eat roasted peanuts and a banana to get that 'pb banana' sandwich snack without the bread and unhealthy fat.

Cool Whip, Slim Jims, & String Cheese

I actually do not think Cool Whip is a healthy snack. It's whipped oil and the sugar free one is all chemicals. Real cream...for the win!

    String cheese, yes of course.

And there's better beef jerky out there (even Trader Joe's brand if you're looking for inexpensive jerky).

    Cool Whip
    Strawberries
    Pickles
    Bananas
    Fudgsicles

Gah! No, not another Cool Whip answer!!

    Here's some info:

"Here’s what whipped cream is made of:

    cream, sugar.

You can make it at home in 5 minutes. Your 10 year old can do it too.

Here is the ingredient list for Kraft’s Cool Whip:

Water, Corn Syrup, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Coconut and Palm Kernel Oils), High Fructose Corn Syrup, Less than Two Percent of Sodium Caseinate (from Milk), Natural and Artificial Flavor, Xanthan and Guar Gums, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Monostearate, Beta Carotene (Color).

    Whoa. What’s going on here?

As usual, the fat is out, the fillers come in. Take some water, mix in xantham and guar gums as thickeners, hydrogenate some oils to make them semisolid, add lots of sweet, and cover it all up with artificial flavors to resemble the original.

All this maneuvering to reduce the calorie count.

    Bravo!?

    Disgusting." - source Fooducate.com

Ostrich jerky from GNC is the best! 80 calories and 14g protein. I also love to do fresh veggie stir fry and put it in small tupperware for my snacks (cabbage, bellpeppers, carrots, onions, celery, water chestnuts, bamboo, and shrimp with jalepenos, lite soy sauce, seasoning, and fish sauce). Fresh ingredients makes it crunchy and deeeeeelish! Make an entire wok of this and split it in small portions.
  • Light kettle popcorn
    Almonds!!
    Hard boiled eggs
    Fat free cottage cheese
    Pack of tuna in water
    Quaker rice cakes

A few of those I keep in my desk for snacks to fight the vending machine urge!!

    Bare Fruit Organic Apple Chips!

29 calories per serving and they're wicked crunchy, so they satisfy that need for a crunch. I have 2 lbs of them shipped automatically each month from Amazon...LOVE THEM! They also make cherry chips, mango chips, and pear chips...each equally as awesome.

Lately, I've been making my own high-protein (24g), low-sugar (3g) no-bake brownies. The last batch I made was Maple Banana Hazelnut topped with a Greek-yogurt, Cream cheese, Raspberry glaze: 194cal; 24g protein; 8g carbs; 3g sugar; 2g fiber; 6g fat. Without glaze, its a mere 147cal per brownie.
