help with calories, please

I just noticed that cooked veggies are double (if not triple) in calories than raw veggies. Why is that? So the two egg omelet with mushrooms/spinach/bell peppers becomes a high cal food.

If it is true then it is because there is a large water loss in cooking. So the weight goes down 50 or 67% as well. Leaving you where you started, providing you weigh cooked when using the analysis as cooked.

Another possibility is that cooking might be frying in oil or butter and adds calories.

I've noticed a lot of options for cooked veggies on here assume some sort of oil for cooking and/or butter after.

If it's just steamed then there isn't much difference, sauteed in olive oil will add, other oil will add more. As well as any butter added for flavor after the fact.

Make sure when you log, you're picking something that reflects the way you cooked your veggies.
