SURE YOU CAN. P90X ISN'T A CULT. YOU CAN DO HALF A VIDEO IF YOU WANT TO OR NONE AT ALL.
...:) Alright, seriously though. An exercise video is an exercise video. Just make sure your logging it as high impact aerobics or another appropriate entry.0 -
I found that the meal plan was impossible for me to do as it required a great amount of food. I did it for two days and didn't want any mreat products for a week. I did notice a difference even in a few days when doing the excercises, and the first time I tried it I lost 4 lbs in 4 days.0

WOW. I'd be wearing an hrm to get good calorie count... and figured I'd stick to mfp.... looking for something to do between visits with personal trainer0

I am on day 58 of P90X and I absolutely love it ~ i eat as clean as possible and i have lost a few inches and a few pounds with many cheat snacks thrown in (ice cream is my downfall).0

And the pointe shoes KILL my feet and toes - but i just can't stop! been dancing for over 30 years now and i think they'll have to carry me, kicking and screaming, out of the studio!0 -
I do p90x just as a supplement to my workouts often. I love it, but not for 90 days!0

I'm starting Week 4 on Monday, and have been trying to follow the macros for Phase One, but 50/30/20 is really hard for me to reach. But, that isn't entirely important to me, mostly because of a fellow MFP'r who had amazing results, without the expensive recovery drinks, and strict meal plan. I think it will still make a difference, regardless.0

A lot of times I follow my own hybrid schedule. It sometimes consists of a blend of P90X, P90X+, 1-on-1 w/ Tony, and Insanity. For example, this past month it looked like this:
M- P90X Chest and Back, Ab Ripper X
T- Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance
W- P90X Shoulders and Arms, Ab RIpper X
R- Insanity Pure Cardio
F- Insanity Upper Body Weight Training
Sa- Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit
Su- Rest or Yoga
I'm on a recovery week right now. It's mostly core and cardio stuff. Next month, the workouts will change. As far as the diet goes, I used to use a HRM and put in my calories. I don't do it anymore. I just go as hard as I can. I don't track calories burned, just calories consumed. I'm on a 2,000 calorie diet. I try to eat 5 400 calorie meals throughout the day. Sometimes I eat more at a certain time and less later. For example, I may have a bigger breakfast and a smaller lunch or snack. But I try to have even meals. It just keeps me lightly satisfied all day, because I used to overeat at meals and feel terrible later. It has worked for me! I'm in great shape, and I feel great! Just a tab bit of body fat % left to go!0
