Yeah, but unless your name is Kobayashi, I don't think you're physically capable of it.

And I think your body starts to let you know when you are heading toward protein overload with all sorts of little nasties like belly gurgling and bloat and god awful Satan's breath farts (Or perhaps that's just Moi???)

You can, Google "rabbit starvation". More than 30% of your calories as protein is probably getting past the point where it's useful.

Protein intake becomes dangerous if your not consuming enough water. why? because your kidneys have to flush your system of all the protein in your body, thus the reason why you need enough water. As far as taking int oo much...well ive been taking in a mininum of 200G of protein everyday for over a year, ive lost 50lbs, built muscle and im perfectly fine, of course I drink water like a mad man too. To wrap up, too much protein is only dangerous if not accompanied by adequate amounts of water.

When your kidneys flush out the extra protein, calcium is lost as well. So it's been said that too much protein can be bad for bone density and bone loss. Here's one article on it, but you can look it up and find a lot of research on the subject: http://www.livestrong.com/article/545106-can-too-much-protein-deplete-calcium/

Great answer. YES you can get too much protein. The guy who said to drink a lot of water was right, too. It's also pretty hard to get too little protein, if you are eating a properly balanced diet, avoiding processed crap, that includes enough calories.

I have recently read that consuming too much protein can actually pull calcium from your body and can also increase blood cholesterol levels.
