Coffee replacement

I am hooked to instant coffee that is already mixed with sugar and powder. You just need to add hot water. Please help me get off this. I can afford 1-2 cups/day. I am usually so hungry at work that I keep having it every2-3 hrs. I avoid eating snacks.

  • But, you need to eat snacks. As long as they're healthy snacks, they're the best thing other than breakfast to eat. I'm a coffee fiend as well, but I know I need to reduce the amount I drink, so I try to drink less, then I immediately switch to water.

Maybe you should stop avoiding your snacks?

I don't know many good snacks. I usually take fruit but that spikes my sugar and by the time evening rolls I am hungry again.
I dread workout in evening cause am starving

Fruit spikes your blood sugar but sugar in the coffee doesn't? There is nothing inherently wrong with coffee, but it sounds like what you're drinking is not real coffee. Try real coffee! If the ease is an issue, how about hot tea and stevia instead?

Next issue is snacks. Try a balanced snack with fat and protein and carbohydrates- an apple and peanut butter or grapes and string cheese are a couple favorites. If you need to stay away from fruit, try cheese and crackers, or a (measured) handful of your favorite nuts. Emerald 100-calorie packs of nuts are perfect premeasured convenience snacks that I always keep in my purse.
