I'm really enjoying watching this, and I thought I'd share this show if anyone is interested. I LOVE the idea of changing the way children eat at school and teaching America to eat better quality food to improve their lives.
You can watch on Youtube or on Hulu

I enjoyed this series too! I never expect shows like that to be perfect but it's nice to have a dialogue about how habits are formed.0

I see it the same way. It's a dialogue.
I like the idea of empowering parents to push for better quality food. That's the key for making it change. Piss off enough parents, and the schools will come around.0 -
Is this the one that was on a while ago- where he went in to schools and re-vamped their cafeterias and got the communities involved? Is there a new season?
I loved that show!0 -

I believe there are several seasons. Hulu has season 1, and Youtube has a bunch.0 -
I think it's a really great thing that Jamie is doing. It was a real eye opener for me seeing how the schools in the US operate with their caffeterias, we don't have the same set up here in Australia. Our kids mostly bring food from home and teh canteen is there for buying food occasionally (in my case as a kid Friday's were the only day mum let us buy our lunch from the canteen).
Here in Australia we've been promoting healthy food in schools for a long time, reducing the amount of sweets and soft drinks and greasy food available in school canteens. Also there are so many good programs allowing schools to grow their own vegetables and tech kids about them.
Unfortunately there is still quite a large difference between schools in 'well off' suburbs and schools in lower socio-economic suburbs. And it's a vicous cycle because these kids grow up with these habits instilled and pass them down to their kids.
The more food education we provide kids and their parent's the better. GO JAMIE0 -
I loved this, but i found it very hard to watch as i couldnt believe how closed minded some people are, and they just down right denied that Jamie was trying to help. Just wanted to jump through the screen and give them a good slap!0
