Not Losing Weight--HELP!

I've been working out at the gym consistently every day for the last 7 months (weekends are optional). Over the course of that time period I noticed at first that I was losing a few pounds, but now I am not losing any weight; in fact, I think I have been GAINING weight. I haven't really changed my diet, however. But I've been eating the same as I was before I started working out. So when I think about it, I should have lost a few pounds if I added longer/more intense work outs. Unfortunately that just hasn't been the case. I have tried to go by how I look/feel but can't help feeling intimidated by everyone's "My Total Weight Loss" ticker thing on their MFP Profile and mine is '0'. I always used to try and track my food and what I ate, but starting this week I am really cracking down by watching what I eat. If this doesn't work I don't know what will. Any suggestions/comments/encouragement/etc?

What kind of workouts are you doing? Are you doing cardio, or lifting weights? I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but muscle does weigh more than fat, so if you're weight lifting you may be putting on muscle. If I were you, I'd start keeping track of my measurements (bust, waist, hips, thighs, arms) because you may be losing size even if you aren't losing pounds. Good luck!0

Are you counting calories? I spent the past few months eating healthy and exercising but hadn't lost any weight until I actually started counting calories.0

I agree with keeping track of measurements. If you do not have a lot of weight to lose, you may see more changes in the way you look. There is also a big debate on eating less vs eating more to lose weight. My advice is: make sure you eat ENOUGH. If you work out a lot (whether it be cardio or strength) your body needs more fuel, so make sure you are giving it enough. I've also found eating more protein has helped me lose.0

Well, with no access to details like diary and no comments to your exercise, I guess what can be said is keep at it and something will happen.
BTW, unless you having workouts that are very easy and recovery type, you are really wasting your time at the gym going 7 days a week.
I mean, don't fool yourself that you are getting anything more than just basically increased daily activity at this point. Because by working out everyday, no workout is able to be hard enough to provide any benefit except extra calorie burn during the workout.
That may be fine, but usually ones want more out of workout.0 -
Wow i just started a thread about the same thing except ive only been at this a little under 3 weeks. don't give up i guess you and I both should alter our diets. Good luck!0
