HCG DROPS... ANYONE HEARD OF OR TRIED THIS?

I saw a friend post on facebook that she has been using this,
and that she has been doing it for 2.5 weeks, and has lost 23 lbs.

After looking at it a bit more on a couple of sites I see that you take the drops
and maintain a 500 Calories a day diet.

WTF??? 500 Calories, that doesnt sound good at all.
Not to mention losing weight that quick...

Just wanted to see if anyone has tried this or know of it?
Im by all means not looking for a shortcut, but it's mindblowing to me.

I wonder if it still works even if you up the calories???

HCG has been proven to be a fraud pretty much. Injections were pulled from the market.

The drops do nothing themselves. People lose weight because of the sever calorie restriction.

Searching here will provide a lot of threads about this same topic.

Well I was bored this morning. *grabs popcorn and enjoys the show*

(Meaning this is one of those topics that will go to epic proportions fast and then get shut down. Yes, I need a life.)

apologies for the huge pic, I was just quacking in anticipation... :)

But no, it's a load of baloney, you lose weight because of the severe calorie restriction. And it's not sustainable, nor safe.

I am doing the HCG drops and am totally amazed at how well I am doing on them. This is my second round, plus my husband did them the with me the first time. Yes the calories are strict. The HCG drops really act to curb my appetite. What I have found though is we are really eating much more healthly than before and it has forced us to think about what we are eating.

I wouldn't purchase the drops online, but instead went through a medical spa. I also have known several others that have done the HCG drops and everyone has been able to maintain their weight loss for years which is one reason I decided to try them.

Does it work? Yes....is it healthy? No. You lose hair, your skin looks dry and old, and you look very tired. It's not the healthy way to eat. Try all natural eating instead, like the paleo diet or gluten free, or something else, but 500 calories? No. Your organs need more than that just to function properly.

    Just a note...

Discussions about HCG (and other dangerous weight loss methods) are not allowed on the boards. They are only allowed in specific groups.

Yeah, a family friend took the shots for awhile and she lost weight, but she lost a lot of her hair too!

50% of your weight loss comes from muscle. And what happens when you lose muscle? Your metabolism slows down. What happens when your metabolism slows down, you gain the weight faster. Don't let you friends do HCG, get cable instead.

HCG in ANY form has been repeatedly proven to have NO EFFECT on weight loss, and any doctor that allows or promotes HCG for weight loss should be reported to your local medical board for malpractice!

Wow, I once responded to a statement about HCG and recieved the only nasty response I have ever gotten on this website. So all I will say, is google HCG and checkout the groups on MFP for more information.

When you google it, use sites that receive no financial gain by selling or promoting HCG. I copied in a link, please do not be offended by my response, you need to do what is right for you I am only providing the link so that you can see why I choose not to use HCG. Good luck.
