What are good percentages of Carbs, proteins, and fats? Mine are set at the default 55%carbs, 15%protein, 30%fat.
I'm trying to lose a little bit of fat but I don't have much to lose. I do P90X, Insanity, and Asylum workouts, and just a little bit of running. I'm not really trying to build more muscle mass, but I want more definition.

I also agree with 40c/30p/30f ratio. However my trainer recently advised me to change it slightly to 45c/25p/30f based on the type of work we are doing, emphasizing carbs before our workouts and protein after :)

I went to a nutrtionist who recomended 40% carb, 40% protein and 20% fat for me. I run 5-7 miles a day and do an hour in the pool. However, I am female and have recently met my goal so this may change.

Regardless of the way you split up your macros, make sure to get in atleast 1gram per pound of lean bodymass daily. You find lean body mass by taking your total body weight and subtracting your bf%. If you don't meet this, you risk losing musle. Some say .75grams per lb of lean body mass is sufficent but i like to stay on the safe side, muscle is too hard to build to lose it over a silly numbers game.
  • Thanks for the tips and that's how I'll change my carbs, fat, protein.
